Sadly, we are one short of 10 places to get an extra free garage.

Just got this reply from Sam at MSVT:

The final instructions email (including garage plan) for the track day on Wednesday will be sent out tomorrow morning.

As soon as I have this, I will post it up here.

Carl and Scott have a garage booked in their name, adjacent will be another 2 garages which the rest of us can share.

I'll bring a table for one for the garages with bottled water and a few soft drinks in a coldbox. I'll bring some milk, kettle, tea, coffee and sugar with a few mugs (but not sure hot drinks will be the order of the day!). BBC weather forecast, come prepared for the heat!!

As usual, long trousers and long sleeves will be required, BUT MSVT might relax that rule on the day due to the heat, for tintops only, so you may wish to come prepared with a change of clothing.

I aim to get there at ~7.30am. Sign on usually starts around then, with noise testing from 8am, briefing at 8.30 (PROVISIONAL, TBC when we get the briefing tomorrow).

Dear track day customer,

Thank you for booking a place on our general car track day at Snetterton.

Please read these details carefully prior to arriving at the circuit.

Track warnings are issued to attendees for poor circuit etiquette. A warning tracker system is in place, monitoring all MSV trackdays. Cumulative warnings result in a ban being issued to those not looking after others on circuit.
The online check-in and safety briefing MUST be completed prior to arrival for every track day. Check-in can be done immediately please. The safety briefing will be available using this same link from 08:00 the day prior to the event. Please forward this email onto any other participants you have booked including passengers. They will all need to click using the same link and complete the online form using their own email address.
On arrival, you will need to sign-on showing your appropriate licence and collect an attendee wristband. The team will need to check both check-in and briefing has been completed. (no briefing for passengers) They are unable to issue your attendee wristband for the day until you have done so.

MSVT has changed the licence requirements to attend all its car trackdays. For MSVT car dates ‘All’ drivers will be required to hold a ‘full road driving licence’. This means ‘all race licences’ will no longer be accepted (in isolation) at registration. There are no changes to the current vehicle requirements. Drivers aged 17 with a road licence must book by phone.


Essential information – PLEASE READ:

• Overnight camping will be permitted at this circuit the night before or the night between two consecutive track days. During summer months evening access is from 20:30.
• Venue gates are scheduled to open at 06:30.
• The garage plan is attached. Once the garage plan has been emailed we are unable to add or amend. EV, HEV and PHEV taking part are not able to park in the garages and have dedicated parking bays – just beyond the Pitlane Access area. There is a fair use policy in place for the use of circuit electricity. This Snetterton link has further info.
• Signing on is at 07:30 at the race admin office. Please arrive in plenty of time and ensure you have your suitable licence. Arriving late will result in significantly lost track time for you whilst waiting for a member of staff to become available. Passengers are to sign on after 09:30.
• We prefer all additional drivers and passengers to be paid for prior to the event to avoid slowing the sign-on process for others. The fee for adding a main driver, if still available, is £15 more and an Additional Driver is £45. There is a limit of three additional drivers per car.
• There will be a supplementary, mandatory verbal briefing with wristbands issued, for ALL drivers at 08:25 in the Tyrell’s Restaurant. This is essential to attend and in addition to the online safety briefing. Please locate yourself close to the chief instructor.
• Your car will need to be noise tested at the Archie Scott Brown Centre. The noise limit for the event is 105db static and will commence from 08:00. There is a drive-by limit of 92db.
• The sighting laps commence on circuit at 09:00. Please ensure you have made your way into the pit lane prior to this to avoid delays.
• 1-2-1 in-car tuition is available for closed roof cars or open top cars fitted with intercom.
• Summary of requirements attached.
• Helmet hire is available.
• Catering will be available. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drink to the circuit.

Please do not park behind or in front of other drivers reserved garages. As some will be paddock based, please bring gazebos, generators etc. if needed and ensure you spread out.

Summary of requirements
During your initial track day purchase you will have received an email booking confirmation with links to all the important info. Below is a brief summary of the essentials. At the bottom of the page is a link to the full terms and conditions;
•
Please ensure you bring the physical copy of your suitable licence (we cannot accept a photo).
•
Passengers must be aged 14 or over except Bedford which is 16 (minimum age to go anywhere in the venue at Bedford is 16). A maximum of one passenger per car on circuit.
•
Unless accompanied by an adult at all times, no persons under the age of 16 years old are allowed in any operational areas or controlled track areas. Under 16’s are not permitted in the pit lane, or collecting area at any time. Children under 16 years of age are not permitted to be left alone at the venue (i.e. whilst the responsible adult is on track). A secondary guardian would be required in that instance. Under 16’s are not allowed at all - ‘anywhere’ on site at Bedford.
•
Lap timing is not permitted.
•
Please ensure the car is checked over prior to going on circuit and fit for the purpose. Ensure your towing eye is fitted and all loose items removed from the car prior to sighting laps. Switch off your emergency ‘e-Call’ feature (car/phone) and reactivated after leaving the venue.
•
Helmets must be worn (not off road style motocross helmets) that are designed for motorsport use. Drivers of convertible cars must wear a full-face helmet with visor (even if the roof is up).
•
All in-car cameras or other equipment must be safely and securely attached, using mounting systems specifically designed for that purpose. Professional 'designed specifically for the purpose' suction mounts/adhesive mounts need a secondary secure fixing such as a tether. The event team do reserve the right to insist on adjustments or refuse use of the equipment if they deem it unsuitable/unsafe. Hand held or helmet cams are not permitted.
•
Please ensure arms and legs are fully covered.
•
Participants must listen and adhere to all briefings and safety instructions throughout the track day, including flags, signals or warnings from marshals or any other representative of MSV. The decisions of MSV are final. Timing is not permitted.
•
Any kind of driving which is considered by MSV to be a nuisance or dangerous is not permitted on circuit or anywhere on site. Outer track limits must be adhered to.
•
No paddock bikes or animals may be brought onto the premises, except registered guide dogs.

Just completed the briefing. Noted the following in the briefing: "Arms and legs need to be covered at all times except if you are in a saloon car, where a short sleeve shirt is permitted" Phew!! - My aircon is still not working and so this is very welcome.

Completed the briefing... I note carefully it says refuelling must be carried out well away from buildings and awnings...
I'm sure last time I got given a warning from a marshall/official because I was doing exactly that and was told it 'Refuelling must be in a garage! We'll let you off this time but don't do it again! '... (Makes no sense to me if there is a spillage and / or fire - dangerous in an enclosed space?)

Anyhow, I've screen-shotted the briefing section for evidence if they say anything this time!

Thanks All. Good group of people today and pretty fun.

No further omp issues on the long trip home, including a little spirited driving, but I'll be swapping it asap as I'd rather not end up in limp mode at Bedford.

Bit of a shame to decide to cut the day short, but probably the right call. The heat was a bit energy sapping too

I hadn't had the best time on track, with almost no clear laps in the morning, and being a bit off the pace in a few of the major corners largely due to not sufficiently being able to build myself up on them. Normally afternoons are better, but not to be this time. I shouldn't be too disappointed with 2.25 laps really, as it was only last time that I've bettered that.
