Just out of interest, I assume when Javelin say 12 car limit they mean 12 cars on track at any one time?

Yes, I assume they have around 40-50 booked on. 12 on track is a nice number at Combe. Normally they let out double that and it's a bit busy. On their own days they massively oversell them, and I've heard numerous stories of people queuing ages for track time.

Just booked as well. What's the courtesy for time on track when you get on then so people can get their fair share?

20 minutes is normally considered a long enough stint if you want to avoid overheating your tyres and brakes. Plus it's enough time to tire when concentrating that hard. Most people will probably do close to that.

Great turnout so far. I imagine just based on our bookings alone the track day will be nearing the 50% capacity that will trigger the end of the sale price with Javelin. So if you're interested in this day, don't wait to book to get the best price!

There will only be a total of 38 cars booked on the day, which is a very low number and perfect for Combe and will ensure plenty of clear running for all. Anyone who has experienced one of Combes 80 car days, will appreciate how good this is!

Excellent turn out for this one. We have nearly half of the total places on this day sold to club members and other friends. Now that it is over 50% full, the sale price is no longer available, but you can still take advantage of the club discount code and any reward points if applicable.

I have booked the Cepen Park Premier Inn in Chippenham for 2 nights, as it was only £129 total (paid in advance). Makes it less tiring!

Not sure if this link will work, in case anyone else is interested, but the price has already gone up by £1

Top notch track day yesterday, one of the best I’ve done.

My first time at CC and what a great circuit it is, well suited to RX-8s and MX-5s I’d say.

I obviously don’t time my laps but I did count 82.5 hippopotamuses (1 minute 22.5 seconds) on one lap which I was happy with .

Another very enjoyable trackday, with the benefit of driving in both dry and wet conditions. I was very happy with my 1m 23.89s in the dry on road tyres, plus a smattering of 1m 24s (I stress - no live timings were visible, all were post session analysis). In the wet, I was a good 10 seconds slower

It was lovely to see such a good turnout with (I think) 8 x 8's attending out of our group of about 16? Great to see and chat to people I had not seen for quite a while - hopefully I'll see some of your at other events later this year, now we are getting into the show and trackday season. Nice of Pete (our new Chairman) to pop down to socialise with us too. He kindly came out in a session with me and proffered some advice, "why are using the brakes..."

I'll see if I can put some video together over the next few days. In the meantime, a few of the photos taken by Extreme....

Excellent Day, and a good turnout from us. The low numbers day format worked well, with mostly reasonable or no queuing and lots of space on track.

The final session made it for me. I came in from the penultimate session a mentioned that although the track had dried, I couldn't be bothered to swap back to the AR-1s just for a single stint. Nick and Josh immediately offered their services and we had them swapped in minutes.

I then went out and had a highly enjoyable session lapping with Pat, with us both taking turns to push each other along. I knocked another 1.4s off my morning best time getting down to a 1:23.16, which was 2.4s quicker than my time from the Summer Action Day last year on on the still enduring ancient set of Rain Sports.

The AR-1s are so good that I still think there's more time on the table, but it comes with risk at Combe. Once in the morning my pedal went long going into Tower (or whatever it's been renamed to  ) at over 100mph, which is something I've rarely experienced in a RX-8!

The wet was interesting too. A few moments exiting Quarry and the first chicane.

Usual video selection:
1. My fastest lap
2. The final session with lots of footage of Pat's car shooting flames
3. An early session featuring Josh, Steve, Neil/Tom and Robert
4. My penultimate session on a drying track with Josh and Nick
