PLEASE aim to arrive no earlier than 7.30am via the clearly marked GREY GATE, to allow the Events Team to set up the marquee, gazebo, refreshments gear, and mark out the stand.

Points to note:

• Refreshments (1 or 2 breakfast bacon rolls), water and soft drinks will be available. There will also be tea & coffee, but please BRING YOUR OWN MUG - only a limited supply will be available on the day. Members are most welcome to bring cakes, etc, to share.
• Refreshments are FREE to fully paid members, others will be required to contribute £5 to partake - still a lot cheaper then the trade vans! Cash would be good, else paypal or I can take card payments on my phone (if I have a signal!).
• Bring your own camping chair(s) to relax in the Club Gazebo and get some shade.

For those on track:
Don't forget to bring:

• Long sleeved clothing to cover your arms and legs.
• Helmet (or hire one on the day - limited supply, so sign-on early for these)
• Your current, full, valid, DRIVER's LICENCE

If doing the PUBLIC track session, Pete and I recommend you go to the Strawford Centre (open from 7.30am) to sign on asap after you are parked up. Then go to a COMPULSORY Safety Briefing session (every 20 minutes in garage near Strawford Centre, starting at 8am).

Pete will provide some further advice in due course wrt the club session, noise testing timing and when we expect to leave our stand to convoy to the paddock.

A copy of your stand payment which can be printed or on your phone

TRACK DRIVERS……..
PLEASE BRING YOUR DRIVING LICENCE
sign on at the Strawford centre and tell them which track sessions your doing, you will then be given a track pass which you fill in and hand to the Marshall as we drive into the assembly area Strawford centre opens 7:30 for signing on

ATTEND DRIVERS BRIEFING AS SOON AS YOU CAN [ at Strawford centre ]
Take your car to noise testing by right hand side of assembly area [ make sure the boot is empty ]
Rejoin us on the stand

Passengers need to get a passenger arm band from the Strawford centre [ I think £10 or will not be allowed out ]

We will line up from our stand at 10;10 and convoy through the arena to the assembly area
Don’t forget arms and legs covered and crash helmets are compulsory [ have enough fuel for the session ]

I have a couple of things to give away, and one to sell.

Free Stuff

S1 Parrot Hands Free kit, works for all S1 radio/CD players, and allows for bluetooth and iPod connections. Could do with a new remote control as its a bit ropey.

S1 standard silver wheel with tyre (plenty of tread). Not the greatest looking wheel due to surface corrosion, but comes in a tyre bag to keep your interior clean. Perfect as a get you home spare should you adversely clip a curb on a track day.

For Sale

S1 Double Din Android unit - Comprises of one of poor-lackey's AC Controller boards (it works brilliantly, and he should be applauded for it), coupled to the cheapest Atoto android unit, and the cheapest Ebay double din surround money could buy (plenty of dremelling to get it all to fit). It's all wired up and works perfectly, AirCon, Steering wheel controls etc. Asking for £65 which I paid for the AC Controller, as you may wish to change everything else. I mostly use the radio, so the android part didn't really suit me.

This will be his first full track experience (depite having driven Combe in both directions - but not track speeds - with U17CC)?

Having written his car off twice in past 6 months(!) and paid for rebuilds - scared that he'll overcook into Avon entry and miss braking into Quarry...

I’m not sure if the garage adjacent to the circuit still does fuel but there are garages fairly close to the circuit in both directions on your way there

Thank you Malcolm and Pete for organising!! It was a great event and great weather too.

I took a couple of photos from the event if anyone wants them. Not the best quality but it’s the best I can do on a phone!

Nice stand guys, I was too shy to come and say hello but took a couple of pics. Unfortunately uploading them is a pain as a non member, hopefully next year I'll be there representing the lightnings which I noticed you were lacking in!

Massive thank you to everyone who attended JDM on Saturday it’s the people who make the show
Once again this was a fantastic show with a really nice family atmosphere
A special thanks to Pete who once again brought the cutaway rotary engine which is a fantastic crowd puller and had groups of people around it all day
Special thanks also to the hardworking people who made the stand happen
Ian Mothersole who managed to pack gazebo’s etc into his car
Leroy and Rachael for the fabulous cooking and general help etc
Casey who was in charge of the stand and general dogs body
Also the others who pitched in during the day erecting and dismantling etc

Once again I didn’t get to speak to anywhere near as many people as I would have liked to have done [ the day just goes ]
Paula [ Ppitstop ] drove my car in the club session with her friend as a first time track passenger
I co-piloted Joe Pearce in the club session for his first fast laps on a race circuit in his MX-5 and he did very well [ even OVERTAKING HIS DAD ] who came up with lots of racing driver excuses
He listened and gave it full throttle when told to [ my favourite expression ] until he got near the limit of the tyres which over inflated
How did you get on in the second session Joe ?

I took Paula’s friend out in the second session which I thoroughly enjoyed
I did get well out of shape entering the first chicane on one lap which brought a gasp from the passenger seat I can only put this down to some fluid on the track with an instant rear end breakaway and broadside entry which I was lucky to catch

I think we had 19 for club session [ a little under what we hoped for ] but good fun by all
It was 14 for the second session with a last minute entry by Spike for both sessions which we managed to sort out

I didn’t take any photo’s so please post up here all your comments, photo’s, videos etc

Probable my longest post ever

Pete beat me too it!

After a somewhat stressful run up to the event, trying to ensure we had everything organised, it turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Thank you to everyone who came along to make it so enjoyable, and especially to the people who helped out before and on the day itself. Pete has named loads of those who helped in some way - apologies if we missed anyone off that list. Particular thanks from me to:

- our chairman, for liaising with Maria at Combe, organising the fresh food for the day and keeping things on track leading up to the event.
- Ian.M for transporting a HUGE amount of kit too/from the venue, arriving first and leaving last, after all the items of kit were packed away.
- Pete Symons, for brining the crowd-pulling and educational full size demo engine.
- Rachel and Leeroy for their help with the catering, and helping setup and pack away.

There were also many others who freely volunteered and helped out during the day in some way to help make things run smoothly - too may too mention, but thank you.

I was pleased to be able to get around and catch up with many regulars and to introduce myself to some new faces. Even so, the day went so fast that, like Pete, I still managed to miss speaking to a few names on the list of attendees.

I thoroughly enjoyed my club track session with Ellis in the passenger seat. He seems even keener than ever to get his RX-8 track-ready for 2027.

I passengered with Fab66 (Mark) in the 12.45pm session at this request, to give him some pointers. Hopefully, Mark will join us at some future full trackdays now he's got the bug

I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as I did and returned home safely.
