Received a phone call 10 minutes ago from my contact in Japan saying they have found 3 ex-Racing mk1 bodyshells that would suit my requirements; it’s finally coming together.
Will have to outsource the viewing, damn it.

Check the cages are hardtop compatiable....99% are not. For me i want windscreen and roof. After the Westfield its something i wont compromise on now.

As long as you follow the blue book regs you’ll be able to make one yourself. ( someone will correct me if I’m wrong) but I’m sure that’s the case.

Depending if you trust your welding skills

I thought MK1s won't take E10 fuel? Any solution for when that comes in?

I just had a wonderful thought regarding the rubber/viton seals in rotor oil seals when E10 fuel is used. Potentially I suppose the oil film on these may delay or even negate any side effects but does anyone know for sure?

If the blender at the refinery has dyslexia the effect of 10% M ethanol would be interesting!

I'll cross my fingers for you guys then. My understanding was that nothing was formalised on that front and that the current plan is for E5 protection fuel to be sold in limited locations for a limited time until everything at some point is E10. Which is exactly how E5 was rolled out in most of Europe and just like every fuel (even V-Power) in the UK is now E5.

The E10 mix will be 1.5-3% less efficient that E5. So yes the reduced power and efficiency don't really outweigh the 2% reduced emissions. It'll cost less to make but cost no less at the pump.

Meanwhile... We have a lovely oil war going on... I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw petrol at just £1.07 a litre... Makes premium £1.12~ for tesco momentum.. Compared to the £1.33 I was paying last year at around this time... Thats quite a big difference. Ridiculous really.

This is never going to be a road car so I need a proper cage so will definitely not fit under a roof.
I think I will stick with Flyin Miata for all my stuff; just drop it off at theirs and have everything done by one company.
Have placed an order for the Pandem carbon kit including all wings, doors, bonnet, boot, diffuser, and splitter; eye-watering price.
As for fuel I am going to be running it on racing 110 octane which is still going to be produced or so I have been told.

Ranjan.

Sticking NA or going Turbo Ranjan? I can't remember if you made a decision about what engine was going to be in it.

Considered ethanol on higher boost? Or higher % ethanol fuels possibly not always E85 if you get my drift?
