Sorry if I missed something but If the original engine is a 231 do you still use that engine? I ask because the original post mentions the 192 being a much better starting point.

Reason I ask is because I am interested to know if this can be done for an R3 .
Well as it happens we have bought an R3 with the view to make this available; it would mean developing a COFS system for which is already under way, once that is done we could fit the S1 unit while retaining R3 features like 3 oil injectors etc.

We are doing are best as to make this available for all :thumright:

...and always best to do this kind of thing BEFORE the current engine goes pop and ruins the internals I s'pose? Assuming you take the original irons and modify them ........ would you use 'newly prepared' irons anyway and swap in and out????

Is that guess-timation of 220whp from the 4 port engine?
Whether it is or not, all looks bloody excellent =D>

Absolutely don't wait until your engine goes pop!

No we don't modify your plates but use stock 4 Port plates. We would take your old stuff in Part Ex if they are in usable condition.

The idea is that we will have lots of parts on the shelf ready to go to reduce leads times when this becomes available.

The pettit charger would need a partially custom intake. It could be done though. And yes it'll work well

That’s great, looking forward to you getting it built. I take it that a Easy Tuning ecu would go well with it.

Slight thread hijack, but out of curiosity, what is the CAD system of choice these days? I remember for cars it was always CATIA back in my day, and I trained on Pro Engineer at uni.

Post uni when i worked in a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) company, SolidWorks was on the rise but this was decades ago, and I've not touched it since. Actually thinking about it a friend of mine runs a company called Eventuri and he does some real slick CAD images of his intakes. Must ask him what he uses as well....

I use to love post processing these models, and coming out with amazing images, but of course what you can create now is awesome.

Rob Dahms semi peripheral port RX7 manifold. Have a watch and no doubt you will also cringe at some of the mechanical methodology. The finished product looks good, why on earth they videoed the “hammertur” stuff is beyond me.

Fantastic project. Combined with a turbo, roughly how much extra weight is on the front axel? Wonder if one could balance out the extra kg with an LPG tank in the boot for extra range?

And yes, I do ask stupid questions :)

Many (most) turbo installations require the battery to be relocated into the boot, just to make room for the turbo.

The battery is heavier than a turbo but once you add some of the extra hardware required, probably about the same, so no impact on weight distribution.
