Was on a roll welding the hangers on. Shame I snapped the last one bending it

One for Phil....

I was playing about with mazda edit and I selected the option to show all maps.

2 "hidden" maps popped up which grabbed my attention. Gear ratio A and gear ratio B.

20190912_132622.jpg
Gear ratio A table doesn't have any descriptions but the values go up to 15.94 (I'm guessing AFR) between 4-5 (in guessing RPM) this may be why my AFR is going lean at that RPM?

Did a bit of digging and someone posted a full map list from a mazda 3. Seems as though its fuel related. Might drop the value to 14.7,see what that does

It that a brittle failure just at the edge of the heat-affected area from the weld, or is there another ground-down weld at that point?

Looks like the kind of failure you get when the flex-joint (donut joint) in the exhaust doesn't exist, or has been clamped tight.

What setup do you have at the back of the cat?
See here, relating to that joint...

Does any one know where to get one of these gaskets from?

Those gaskets are nasty, and often leak. Some people on here have modified their manifold / cat to be able to take the OE crush washer/gasket, which works much better. If you do want to use that gasket then probably search for gaskets for Toyosport exhausts. Or make your own.

Only issue I've got is the crush washer doesn't fit in the toyosport manifold groove. The groove is too big and washer to small.

I've searched everywhere for the toyosport gasket and even emailed them. They don't sell the gasket separately

Pics.

The bend to back box will be roughly like that.

I've got to cut a section out of the mid pipe bend to get it to 5 degrees. Couldn't find a 3" 5 degree bend weirdly

Well after literally 3-4 hours of searching for a gasket I've found one.
Ford mondeo 1.8 dt exhaust crush washer. 73mm ID and the toyosport is 76mm ish. It should just squeeze on. Who would of thought a bloody gasket would be so hard to find!

The mondeo seal from ecp doesn't fit. To large. But it does nicely on the mid pipe recess.
Might combine the 2 seals and see where that gets me.

Welding skills are very rusty... Tried to reuse the hanger of the old mid pipe.

This is going to be a squeeze. Need to lose 20mm some how. Fingers crossed this turns up tomorrow
