I think it's looking pretty up together guys, properrr job!

Image

(That's actually probably got less rust than mine...)

Okay, fine, I'll try and get some good photos next time it's not absolutely tipping it down and it's actually light outside, but here are the ones the mechanic showed me from mid-job. I've spoilered for the queasy amongst you. They're potato quality as they're photographs of his phone screen.
Spoiler:

Apparently whilst doing the work the guy said it took longer because of the Waxoyl (my work, he understood and didn't complain) and the Expanding Foam that had been put in the cavity at some point. Apparently they first noticed it was there when it caught fire slightly... (No, there are no scorch marks, don't worry).

Honestly, if I could get hold of the previous owner...

Eek! Frankly I'm glad the photos aren't better quality, it may look more horrific!

The terrifying thing is it sounds like a 'me' bodge...

Let this be a salutary lesson to everyone that rust proofing is VERY important.

How convenient Krown up in Brum have a nice RX8OC discount arranged by the newly greened ChrisHolmes. (Guess where I am planning to go soon...)

Also, don't buy a rusty 8 like I did. For your own sakes...

It makes me a bit worried about what could be lurking under my car... I know everything visible is not rusty... but the box sections worry me a bit!

Oh god no... Wet trapped expanding foam in summer... Just imagine how quickly that would rust through...
