Oh shoot, what a nightmare! Warranty comes in at this point, and I'm sure RRP will see you right.

im sure they will, its why i chose them, i know they'll do the job right, but if something does go wrong, their warranty reputation is one of the best in the business.

AAAAND i was just proven right.

11pm at night i get a text then a phone call from scott. the only place i've mentioned it is on here so it seems he reads this thread :D

after a 40 minute chat about what could have gone wrong (his words, that's a weird one) hes told me if i get the engine to him this week ill have it back approx a week later, and no matter what, he'll fix it no worries.

he says its his first engine thats failed so it needs stripping, the only other failures have been front and rear oil seals. that's a impressive record, and as i said to scott, it would be me :D

so i need that engine out of my car asap... i hate doing jobs twice, and now, this is 3 times in 18 months!

oh and to add to it, i had one of my striplights short out, a shower of sparks from the light and darkness ensued. so i cant even use my workshop now! at least, until daylight so i can look at what went wrong.

however, i see a opportunity to get scott to lob on one or two of their new products, my bank manager is tossing in his bed as we speak!

just to update this, rear rotor had water in it when turned over with plugs out, a little water in front rotor too but i suspect that's mostly fuel.

got back from scotts place after a leisurely drive home (read stick the cruise on at 90 and still get 55mpg!)

hes going to strip it tomorrow but he's betting on apex seals stuck because its spent the last week sitting with water in the chambers and a hole in the water jacket in the rear housing.

anyone else wanna place bets :D

so for those that are not already aware my engine is toast. no serviceable parts at all.

so i went a huntin' for a replacement. id love to have another rebuild, and have no reservations getting another RRP bridge, but budget does not allow, unfortunately.

luckily i was able to pick up a haywards stage 2 engine and lightened flywheel today, (kiwigaz's old motor)so im back in the game.
Image
Image

unfortunately the engine is not as complete as i was hoping, as the person who removed the engine decided that instead of unplugging the loom (which would have been quicker!) They would take the time to carefully cut the looms instead.

Image
Image
Image

they also cut one of the fuel pipes.

Image

so that will be a call to scott tomorrow to chuck some money his way to get that lot sent down to me, as i said he could keep whats left of the engine.

still, its got a few additions that i don't need so i will be listing a few bits on here for sale in the next couple of weeks, which should make the bill a bit less painful.

That makes no sense to cut a loom....the engine been rebuilt prior so the security bolts on the ecu wouldve been drilled out then...
Just lazy that and makes you extra work .
My mate bought a 350z engine and it came like that very time consuming stripping engine off blown engine and swapping...
Anyways good luck. Back in the game soon.
