I think the Greddy kit is quite popular, it's listed as discontinued on their site, but it doesn't say that they're out of stock, so they may have some kits left

Andy

I spent a long time researching turbo kits for my brother and there isn't a lot out there that is a direct bolt on kit, the Greddy seems to be the most direct bolt on.

However the conclusion we came to was that the Rx8performance kit looks the best designed kit and can be adopted easily for right hand drive cars. I have had several email conversations with Scott at Rx8performance he tells me the kit is now a bolt on but I have heard differently from US buyers and that a certain amount of fabrication needs to be done.

However this still looked like the best low mount kit on the market and is truly a work of art (looking at the photos)

In the end my brother decided not to go ahead but is now building a race spec engine NA that's experimental, you may want to hold on. This may produce upto 300hp all NA!

I've found the GReddy kit on an American site for around £2200 which I thought was pretty good including P&P to the UK.

i cant remember what it was that needed changing on the greddy kit

but i think it was the turbo coupling pipework that kept breaking, not sure if this was under greddy's stock pressure or under any higher boost.

other than that im not sure what the big issue was with the kit

The turbo itself is t particularly rated as a good reliable unit in the Greddy kit, and I believe it's quite a small unit with not much room to upgrade

Can't wait to get more power in the rex, the advantages of turbo over n/a is transferable to a new engine when it destroys my current one.

You know that one is a top mount design?

I believe it fouls the OMP making your car a premix only, which is either good or bad depending on your point of view, also top mount designs significantly increase engine bay temps and may require battery relocation.

Did you have a chat with the Guy I sent you too?

BorgWarner are a very large and established powertrain manufacturer. My old 1973 Scimitar was fitted with their BW-35 slush-matic box :)
Phil's subtle sunlight silver - stronger, faster, with added red bits and stuff
The pimped out Glacier White XE - quintessential British motoring from Jaguar
