Remember Haydn we are dealing with cars where the youngest is c12 years old therefore the RX8 management systems are prehistoric compared to the sophisticated systems these days.

Fitted Tein Monosports and EDFC Active Pro this weekend. That rear was a real mission!
Still haven't connected the controller's and drivers. 🙂
I'll get those done this week during lunch breaks

Been to Boston Rotary today for a racing beat exhaust (used), racing beat oil line (fairly used) and a steering gaitor (oem new but not the one I brought). Fitted the led side repeater and sidelight bulbs. By taking the ECU cover off to get access to the offside sidelight Pete said the engine has been out at some point in its life. Had assumed it was original, 49k done allbeit 18 years old. No paperwork to show when or where the engine was overhauled. Oh well.

It might just gave been that the PCM (ECU) security bolts have been drilled out, as is common practise when the engine is removed/rebuilt but was also necessary to perform a remap/mini-map with some apps that required input of the code stuck on the underside of the unit.

My PCM security bolts have been drilled-out, for a mini-map, but the engine has never been removed.

Well today I fitted the cooling fan control kit from RX8Performance. Noticeable difference in engine temp, even when ‘spirited’ driving.

I did ‘think’ i noticed that the drivers footwell seemed hotter than normal - certainly I think it also felt hotter. All the readings for cat temp etc were normal, so not sure when going on there.
I wonder if its because the engine fans are now both on full when the temp gets to the 80s and its the hot air being blown back ??

Thankfully to Paul my rx8 made a sound of life :D It comes out that I've had a coils to replace, so I also replaced my ignition leads and spark plugs. After about 11 times of deflooding procedure it makes a sweet sound of BRAP

All thanks to Paul and his magic hands hah.
