So today I started transferring over parts from my old block to my new block and I ended up snapping a pipe that comes off of the little plate that attaches to the red injector (2005 s1) mounting point.

Does anyone know where I would be able to get a replacement from or know a part number so I can go and get a replacement ASAP?

Tried out that Armor all headlight restoration wipe kit today, since I’ve got a pretty fogged up headlight. It’s not come out perfect, but initially at least vastly improved:

Got the part that I needed from RX motors in Salisbury (thanks to Chris for the suggestion) and have just finished putting the engine in on the mounts and booting up the bell housing. Now I have the fun job of wiring and plumbing it all up tomorrow ImageImageImage

Ended up adding more to the engine today, hopefully the car will be up and running tomorrow and ready for a quick coolant flush and then back to Coventry hopefully.

Sooo enquired with a Mazda dealer about the drain hole plug I need to likely pass my MOT... Not available from Mazda Uk... Or Europe.. And no date from Japan for it. Damn... What to do about that I guess.

So I got my engine all up and running yesterday and was ready to go home but noticed a small coolant drip coming from the water pump area which has meant I have had to stay another day Image. Also forget that I had to bleed the clutch which wasn’t a fun experience to do today....Image

If it turns out to be the water pump they are in short supply with Mazda and over £100, I purchased one online from Mick's garage for less than £30

I have a feeling that it should just be a bad gasket because it’s basically a brand new pump the guy gave me with the engine

Theres a drain hole under the drivers seat, passengers seat and a couple further back under the car. Probably used to form the floor pan etc.

Dang. When I asked BigPete he said the ones on the car he was breaking were also no good.. I might be able to actually just stick the one thats already there down with something to pass.

Ahah possibly. I think James said something similar... I need to clean up all the corrosion though and slap vatcan everywhere so I still have a floor pan to restore... Or itll get expensive quickly :/

My plan this year was to strip everything back to good metal up to the subframes as I didnt want to remove those... Vatcan everything. Possibly paint it and then slap on some OE style underseal.

Ah fair enough I need to do all the underside from the rear subframe forwards as the last owner stuck in an r3 subframe which was reconditioned

Yeah its unlikely Ill get it undersealed this year and stripped completely back.. But Im going to wirebrush any rust I can see and Vatcan it... As thatll at least stop its progression.. Then after I move south I can get it sorted properly.

Took it in to Preserve & Protect this morning thinking they'd just be looking at the damage (see previous posts in this thread where I punched a hole with my jack), so I was very pleasantly surprised when Mark asked if I could leave it and come back later.

£95 and it's all sorted, absolutely stoked with that service.

Yorin - worth considering for your car if you're not too far away from Johnstone and can't be arsed doing it yourself. It was £650 to do the whole underside and that includes annual top-ups (you pay for any wax used to top up where its needed but that's it).

Currently in North East Scotland but Ill give it a look. £650 is quite a big spend for me.. The cars already pushing over its own value in what Ive spent on it... Though I do want to see at as a keep it on the road and healthy kinda thing.. Because my sills have no rust currently at all.. Might be easier once Ive moved to England though. Or more expensive.

Might be too much of a hassle logistically as they take the car for the week.

I'd think down south it'd more likely get cheaper, especially around the middle where all the motorsport/performance/vintage car/bike places seem to be based. Can't comment on quality and service though.
