Looks nice ,where did you get the rainsports from and cost as i'm looking for some .Mpv2k3 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 1:07 am
After discovering that i had two buckelled wheels i decided that it would be more cost effective to get my original R3 wheels refurbished and powder coated as they where in a state.
I was planning to get the closest to the original colour as possible but, whilst chatting to the manager I mentioned that there was another colour I had considered......I was then handed pads containing different shades of colours which only made my decision even harder to make.
And to top it off, I was thinking of a satin/matte finish and all the samples were only in gloss so I couldn't imagine how they would look.![]()

I was back and forth with choosing a close original colour or the new colour and in the end I took the gamble. I then had a few restless nights stressing over the choice I made and hoping that they would be okay![]()
I collected the wheels today and i treated them to a new set of Rainsports3 while I was at it.
The wheels are different and maybe not everyone's cup of tea but, they have grown on me and look different depending on the lighting.

Also, where did you get the refurb done - I assume you'd recommend them?

Re: My R3
It's the first time I've ever had wheels done myself and was with https://diamondcutawc.co.uk/ They are running a 25%-30% off deal until the end of August for standard colours as advertise on their FB page.
I was kept updated throughout the process and advised of any issues e.g two of the wheels were discovered as being heavily corroded once stripped and being prepped and whether I'd like them treated. They weren't pushy and dealt with any issues I had. Only small issue was that they quote excluding VAT so don't get caught out on extras

Your car is looking great Marc, the wheels defintely give it a Spirit R vibe I think.

Re: My R3
Hi. Does anyone know the original colour (code) for R3 anthracite wheels?
I’ve tried searching the forum but can’t find anything. Mind you, after seeing Marc’s beautiful bronze wheels - well, that got me thinking!

Re: My R3
I dont believe there is a precise colour code for the original R3 alloys as many have looked before and often just find a close match

Re: My R3
When I was getting my wheels done we tried looking for the closest match. This was what we found and I was stuck between this or the bronze colour i chose.
