I use a moped tank as well, fits in pretty well with the engine bay.
This is the cheapest FL22 fluid I've found though it's not made by Mazda, used it in both of my RX8's.

I am. However I decided that I'd like the engine bay to look a bit neater plus I need somewhere for an actual oil catch can at some point so. This also makes it a bit more of an actual project. :p

Washed the car this morning as I am going to a small car meet at a local cafe,it seems like a life time ago since the last one it will be a good chance to catch up with a lot of people I have not seen for a long time, drink some coffee and look at cars.
Maybe normal life is on its way back.

Let's hope! I think it's all heading in the right direction. Let's hope we get an Indian summer so we can also enjoy some of the sun we've missed during lockdown....

Well after my exploits last weekend changing the coolant hoses, I was coming back up my street after a drive out today and as I pulled up, I saw steam billowing out from the bonnet and my temp gauge shot up and warning light on  immediately switched off and could see coolant pissing out below :( :( Let it cool a bit and started exploring. Found it, the usual suspect on the radiator. Although I didn’t replace that hose I must have weakened it when removing/replacing the expansion tank. Glad it happened 20 yards from my door and not on track or miles from home!!! Luckily I have a Koyo on my silver breaker which was only about a year old when I took her off the road.

Thought I'd have a go at fitting the RRP decat I bought quite some time ago. The Toyo pipe, on the car when I bought it, must be smaller as the doughnut seal wouldn't fit. New one on order so hope that fits,
Decided to fit the braided clutch line instead. Bit of a fluff to bleed but all done and yet more blue in the engine bay. I need to replace that little tube that goes from the brake fluid reservoir to the clutch master cylinder. Hadn't noticed it until now so it has to go! #-o

On my rrp 200cell cat I had to stretch the doughnut to fit and it was a new one

Drive it home first drive since last September.
My power steering went away that was funny 70miles.
Also 3 miles in to the driving randomly miss fire some time solid engine light flash and then completely went away but no loss of power or hesitate.
Today will check for a vacum leak unplug leads etc contact cleaner plug everything in again.
Coils and plugs covered 6k miles from new they are 1year and half old but still hope they are okay other wise bloody oem coils.

The power steering and other issues could all be caused by a loose battery connection or corroded earth.

Job for today, coolant pump replacement, whilst changing my pulleys I noticed a bit of play in the pump bearings, although it wasn't weeping there was play both axial and lateral, plus if you spun the pump it would freewheel, I would recommend anyone that is working on either the pulleys or the belts, give the coolant pump a wiggle to check.

P0420 code appeared and was cleared. I'm going to blame the decat unless it pops up again in which case I may need to swap my sensor for the spare 'good' one I have in the shed off my old cat and rule that out. I may have also been a bit more generous with the premix than normal last time I filled up, so the sensor may just be unhappy about that which should go away in ~250ish miles (<200 if I'm enjoying myself).

I should really give it a compression test as well, as it was unhappy starting from hot the other day, although it hasn't done the same since. Think happy thoughts...
