Even with the car cleaned a polished, try and park where the wind can't move the cover around, otherwise it will wear through the paint in places.

Drove it for the first time in weeks.
I've been avoiding using due to suspected binding brake, but had a relatively short trip to docs and back this morning and treat myself to a beep or two....

Considering the fastest way to get my car road worthy again. So I went and had a look at EBC yellow rear pads off ebc direct with discount etc. Thought ah that's not a bad price... And then saw the 25 quid shipping fee.. Ridiculous.

Might give that a look Ian. I'm in no rush mind you. The ebc yellows after discount come in at 60ish quid off the top of my head... Half that for postage is a joke! What do they do send them first class royal mail based on weight..

I don't know if they offer free delivery in the UK though....

Royal Mail signed for 2nd class cost about £4:50 per axle set when I did the Mintex brake pads group buy.

ECP have a Boxing Day sale BOX80 which gave 50% discount off some invented price so worth a look there, Mintex & Eicher are both fine other more expensive

Had a look at my binding rear brakes.
Inner pad was siezed in the slider.

Chipped the pad friction material getting it out so good excuse to use the new pads I had just in case

Cleaned everything up with wire brush and pads still tight so filed the ends down to get free movement

Also changed the sliders just in case...

Yeah that's what I thought. Only looked at EBC yellows because they aren't overly expensive with our discount. Just a dick about the postage. I bet its because my address is in the Highlands.

You have my sympathy. Postage to NI is rediculous, if they're even prepared to consider it.

It's a bit of a joke. I could probably buy the EBC pads have them sent to someone else for less money then get that person to second class them to me.. For less than half what EBC want to charge me. Yeah I can imagine it's a bigger pain to NI. They never use to want to deliver to the Highlands.. Now they do theyve kept the pricing high because of the fact there's so much competition.. Tis stupid.

Well not what I have done but what someone else has done!

I just don’t get the mentality of people who can all be it by accident drive into your car and then not own up to it.
Pretty certain it wasn’t any of the neighbours as we all know each other and get on well.
By the white paint I suspect one of the numerous delivery vans that have been around at this time of year.

I’ll have a go at knocking it out tomorrow if no good then I’ll be on the lookout for a Strato blue wing. It doesn’t need to be brilliant as it is no show car.

I was thinking much the same.

Either the official bin men or scrap collectors.

One of them come down the street just around the corner from where we used to live, and the rear gate on their drop-side wagon wasn't secured. As they drove along it hit and scrapped along the sides of all the cars on the left of the road, causing thousands of pounds of damage, and (at least) two of the cars were written-off, as so many body panels wrecked.

The incident was caught on CCTV from a house on the other side and the video passed to the Police, who tracked down the owner of the truck.
He denied driving (you couldn't see his face) then it was discovered that the vehicle wasn't insured for business use anyway (How, when it's a commercial vehicle??)

Long story short, those victims with Fully Comp insurance lost their NCB, five lost their cars, either written-off or they couldn't afford to pay for their own repairs.

The vehicle was crushed but the owner/driver failed to appear in court and wasn't found on the "traveller site" recorded as his address... [-X

That's horrendous!

A 7.5 tonne lorry forgot to close his back door and came off a slip road which I was waiting for the lights on, he came down the right hand lane as the lights changed the door hit the back of my car which scared the living daylights out of me! It then flapped about hitting another 3 cars as he flew off around the roundabout. Luckily another driver in front which was also hit sped after them and did a dodgy overtake to stop the lorry.

The driver got out and started going mad saying all that damage was already there and started closing the door. He got really angry as I was taking pictures of him doing it and got pretty aggressive.

Luckily for me with a witness etc we got it all sorted and made sure we got the most expensive repair Carried out by BMW themselves. To top it off it wasnt even my car it was my dads and we had only popped up to town on Sunday in it as it was parked in front of mine.
