Ooft thats come up a treat. Might have to look into doing that myself at some point. My shrouds are unsurprisingly grey like everyone elses. Would be nice if they matched the rest of the plastics! But at the same time I may wait until I get a different bumper as mine has some damage to it. Though thats on the back burner for "when I respray to a different colour." So quite far down the line as of yet.

Took it for a Razz tonight as it had been sat around for a week and a half, poor thing
Time away makes the heart grow fonder, and boy did I miss it. Gave it a proper good thrashing and saw a winning blue one stuck behind someone else going the other way - my hands were too firmly glued to the wheel to wave

Took it for a nice long journey. Fun though Mintex pads are so squeaky that I've had enough of them. Back to ebc redstuff for me.

The 1144s should not squeak at all if the bedding in procedure has been followed. Do you have the anti squeal shims fitted to the back of the pads.

A thin wipe of Ceratec on the back of the pads also helps prevent squeaks.

They do look the business, will be interesting to see how it lasts compared to DTP (Direct to Plastic) as I was very pleased with the results from that too.

The Pettit is now on the car. At last!
The tips don't quite line up in terms of their protrusion, not sure how to deal with that.
Sounds great though, instant grin. Now where's the nearest tunnel..

Finally took the plunge and bought some bumper dye - results are pretty remarkable. Took many coats to cover the blue/grey but very pleased with how it's turned out.
Time will tell how long it lasts.......
Used MLM bumper dye - came with a foam applicator (but this makes the dye go bubbly) and a micro fibre cloth - best to use this by dabbing into a small pot of the dye as it goes on more evenly without the bubbles
a google search for mlm bumper dye brings up options for applicators with the bottle.
I put on many coats to the bumper and shrouds and only used a quarter of the bottle - loads left for topping up when it needs it, but hoping it doesn't all run off in the first shower

Simplest way is to use a sandwich plate under the oil filter and put both sensors there.Bigblueknight3k wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2019 6:45 pmHello everyone need a bit of help want to fit oil pressure and oil temp sensors heard banjo bolts can be changed to put sensors in the top not got a clue what size etc any help would be great

You can buy modified banjo bolts from the USA but your other option if your practical is get done banjo bolts from a breaker and drill and tap them yourself to suit the senders.

What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Set the alignment with our trusty gauge.
Maxed out on the negative camber and set the toe 1.5 ish out.
Rears already set as the rear end came off “Bully”.
And fitted the splitter

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Why have you "set the toe 1.5 ish out" ?
FWD cars normally run some Toe Out, as the wheels are trying to pull ahead of the car, so when all the slack is taken up under power, the result is nearer zero.
RWD cars normally run Toe In, as the car is being pushed from the rear, between the front wheels, so when all the slack is taken up under power, the result is nearer zero.
The Mazda specification for the 8 is Toe-In 1.4 +/-2.8,, which would allow you to to be 1.4 Out, but it still doesn't make any sense to me, unless you're planning to do something very unusual with the car.

I had my alignment done recently and it was toe out on the front. It did have an early turn.
Now it's been set to stock again and I notice it's slightly heavier to turn in although straight lines seem to be more... Straight and cornering seems to be smoother

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
When mine was setup recently for track we put on some toe out. The idea was indeed to improve cornering. But in our case that meant reducing the toe out as it was previously in snowplough. The sweet spot we found was an angle that would give a nice sharp turn in, but not kill the tyres or create any tangible parasitic loss through increased drag. Which is likely where you'll want a motorsport engineer with lots of experience, hence why I didn't argue and just helped.
We also went as maximum as possible on the camber for the same reason, but were limited by the design of the PZ suspension and height of the car.
My castor bolts were rusted solid (like will-need-to-be-cut-out solid) but thankfully both sides were perfectly even and at an OK angle.
I was planning to go back for a tweak now it's been tested on track. But it's very good already tbh.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Interesting...
I played with zeroing the toe on my Alfa, to improve turn-in, but found that the trade-off in rolling resistance (obvious by the tyre wear) and the increased tendency to tramline, didn't make it worth while, on the road.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
It’s going on track and most of the tracks I go on are quite tight.
Looking for a positive turn in hence the toe. And you don’t get the tram lining on track that you do on the road.
It’s more a case of trial and error, so a tweet here and there is easily sorted.
Alignment is always contentious

My car was set with toe out (can’t remember how much) it definitely improves corner turn in on track.

Went for this in the end:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... UTF8&psc=1
From what I gather most of them around the same price work just as well as each other.
Also currently waiting for a pilot bearing I ordered from Rotary Revs last friday... Rang up to enquire about the progress of it get told it'll be packaged up and sent out today... Seems a bit slow if they ship 7 days a week... :/ Waiting for it to get my clutch changed...
