Straight up blast. The paint won't be the most hard wearing, but should suffice. Just needs the visits touching up every soften as they get 'interacted' with lol

Fair enough. I'll still probably check out the cost of hydro dipping everything. Planning to have the car off the road in winter if I can so dismantling things could be done before it gets too cold. :p

That's fair dos. Winter project is hopefully to try my hand at carbon skinning.

Hydro dipping just looks meh after you've got your hands of real CF... Lol

Lol. Fair enough! Someone I know once posted on facebook about the fact people strip out a cars interior to go faster etc and then conviently plaster everything thats left in CF wrap.. Seems pointless in that scenario. :p Not sure I'd want all my A pillar plastics etc in CF unless I retrimmed absolutely everything to match.

I don't doubt your efforts are going to look awesome. :P If I had the skill and inclination to sit and retrim everything I would want to match up. I'd most definitely get it done. Also as a side note the car throttle series with your R3 was one of the reasons I ended up liking the 8 even more. So, thanks! :p

Haha, yeah, well I've got a kid on the way, so driving time in the 8 will go down for sure. Come the new year I should have a little bit of time to tinker though :thumleft:

And thanks, glad you liked it!

One of the guys I worked with had the headliner, dash, console, parcel shelf, etc of his Mk2 rally Escort done in black "flock".

It looked really good and was much more even than I expected from a process that was done in-situ using a process that involved glue and an electrostatic gun loaded with finely chopped fibres.

However, less than a year later the car was off the road to have the entire interior removed as the flocking had started to shed and it was triggering his wife's asthma and even make him itch.

Including time to remove it it probably took about 3 hours.

This doesn't include the time taken to paint the interior plastics to match, though.

Thanks Mark.

As said a few posts ago I converted my old 192 to a black headliner and it just makes the cabin feel a much comfier place to be. Couple it with the LED interior lights and it makes the RX8 interior that little bit more up to date. Shows just how well it has aged if you ask me (even the S1 looks quite modern compared to other JDM machinery of the era).
