I just bagged myself a PZ (Sad story you may need to look away)
in Feb I got wind of an RX8 'that looked like mine' going for scrap, I promptly told the scrap man, I'd give him a £100 and to drop it off at my house, at the time it just had a dented wing and 'a problem with the carb'.... Great I thought, my other friend who knew the farmer who owned the RX8 said, it'll be top of the range coz thats the type of guy he is.... So I'd hoped it was a PZ.... The car had been parked up since 2016 on his farmyard
When they went to pick up the 3 cars he was scrapping, the RX8 was missing and a rusty volvo was there in place of the RX8, the owner said noooo thats not part of the deal, its worth way more that that... so the deal was off. The scrap man said don't worry he'll want to get rid of it again in a couple of months.....
And sure enough.... the sons had got fed up of it getting in the way in the sheep shed and moved it by lifting it with a telehandler.... below is the result....Such a waste, looks like it was about 75k on the engine, but I fancy the challenge of getting it started...
This it still a great result as I swapped it for some copper pipe and old car batteries I had been stashing up, once I've started it and compression tested it, I'll be stripped and filled to the brim with the rest of the scrap Iron I have laying around, and the scrap man with have the shell and bent bits back, and no money will need to change hands

Good find, the side skirts, spoiler, front valance and rear bumper will be worth a bit alone plus anything else you can salvage.
I just hope you can fix the 'carb'

In the right hands a tin of P38 and a few sheets of wet n dry paper can really work wonders, agreed the roof may need a few spot welds then its Halfords for a couple of Galaxy Grey rattle cans and its sorted.

How can people do that to an 8? Or any car that isn't a total write off already..

Dibs on the spoiler if it isn't buggered and you're selling!
Nevermind, would be too much hassle and I have no one who would be able to help with such a task of fitting.
Honestly though screw these guys, where are they I'll give them a piece of my mind XD

Those alloys alone are going to be 10/10 with a nice clean up/small refurb. Ill never understand how someone could do this.. such a waste.. Even leaving a car to sit about and do nothing for ages is bad!

Oof that is indeed worse casey. To be fair I've seen some absolute waste of cars being sat around for years that's far worse than this. It just makes me wonder though!
And nice. Should be a sweet little upgrade. See if you can salvage the suspension or not too!

I never cease to marvel at all the really old cars and boats that litter peoples gardens and driveways, projects that were well intentioned but will never achieve fruition. There are thirty foot yachts in gardens around here slowly rotting away.
Now a distant memory unfortunately.

Re: I just bagged myself a PZ (Sad story you may need to look away)
Managed to lift it up off the trailer and sit it outside my house within reach of the compressor and windygun..... On closer inspection it had no oil, then I pulled the front bumper as the towing eyes wouldn't fit and found one of the oil cooler pipes was missing and the oil cooler looks like its taken i knock same time as the front splitter got damaged apparently going up someones track. I wonder if its worth going to the bother of borrowing the one off my other 8 to try out the engine... I'm inclined to say sod it and do it, even though I have a ton other other more important things to do with all my other things going on.... I also found a pair of Ladies Dolce and Gabbanna Ladies sunglasses in the sunglasses compartment, looked them up and they were £170 when new... That was a nice surprise

Nice find, I wonder what other little treasures it could be hiding?

Re: I just bagged myself a PZ (Sad story you may need to look away)
This was another scrap man.... I said to the chap selling, when he done selling bits give me first shout for scrap value, and being a enthusiast and decent type he gave me the nod once he sold the new Tein coil overs and kept back the Racing Beat Decat, and let me have the rest. So I put my spare suspension on it, and trailered it away.
