Another good day both on and off the track. It was probably the most enjoyment that I’ve had on a wet day, but I still felt like I was off the pace in those conditions. Thanks to Pete for coming out and giving me some tips.

I was again in awe of Terry’s Rain Sports, and noted how easily Malcolm went past me on his set too while I was struggling to put the power down coming out of Graham Hill. I think I’ll be switching to them next year, as my Avon ZZ5’s took some damage on my recent Car Limits day and won’t be passing another MOT. The Avons are reasonable in those conditions, in that they break away quite controllably and predictably, but I was definitely tip toeing around more than some, and maybe I was being a bit over-careful, but I didn’t feel that I could get away with pushing much harder.

I would have tried switching to my Federals in the afternoon had it not been for my locking wheel nut key breaking in the morning while I was swapping the Avons on. Hopefully I can get a new one ordered without too much difficulty!

Thanks to everyone who made it such a great day, and especially thanks to Ranjan for donating his place. :thumleft:

Videos to follow at some point. I too bought my photos:

Ditch the locking nut mate, they're made of cheese and will always fail after a few goes. They're fine if your wheels only come off for servicing once a year, but not for a track car where they come off often.

I replaced all my nuts with these 19mm ones:

Annoyingly I have to buy a new key just to get them back off again, but yeah next time they're off they might not go back on. Now have some additional oem nuts that can go on.

Not much help now that the events are over but its likely that if you try a few other members keys then you would find a match!

I just know how to use a few features in Abobe Premier. All self taught (with some YouTube assistance) when spending months doing my Road Trip video series last winter. Still barely scratching the surface of the software.

Compliment appreciated though. Image
