I like to use a seat cover in my cars as I do lots of work on them and don't like getting grease and grime on the seats for obvious reasons.
The cover I have now is getting pretty knackered, it's ripped due to sun damage.
What covers do people use? I quite like to chuck them in and out of the car pretty quickly when I swap between cars. I'm not a large person so doesn't need to be really heavy duty, but some strength is a must.

Re: Recommend me a protective seat cover
Be aware that most seat covers are unsuitable for cars with seat-mounted side airbags, like the RX8

Re: Recommend me a protective seat cover
will keep an eye out for the aldi ones. are they actually mechanic type covers rather than ones that try to look like an original cover?
im looking for something more like this: https://public.snapon.com/R_RRD/Objects ... VERRED.jpg

Re: Recommend me a protective seat cover
far to flash and expensive. i want it for use in multiple cars rather than just the RX8. needs to be quick to swap between cars, be relatively cheap and lightweight. but above all, stop any grease/oil/dirt etc getting on the seat.

Re: Recommend me a protective seat cover
Years ago I had my company cars serviced at a dealer, who used to use plastic seat covers which came in a roll plus paper mats that went in the footwell.
Both the seat covers and mats were printed with the dealer name and logo, and they'd leave them in the car to show how it had been protected.
I got into the habit of keeping some of these for working on my own car.
One day, one if my colleagues collected his Jag from the dealer and noticed blue patches on the cream leather seats. By the time he got to the office the blue on the seats was less noticeable and he was less concerned, until we started asking about the blue patches on the seat and shoulders of his pale grey suit.
Long story short, the "technician" at the dealer had fitted the cover inside out and the printing had transferred to the leather, then onto the guys suit. specialist cleaning fail to get it off either and the dealer had to pay for a new suit and a drivers seat from the car. There was still a shadow on the front passenger seat when the car was returned from lease.

Re: Recommend me a protective seat cover
How about these Seat covers 4x4 owners use them when off roading etc in fact I use one on the drivers seat of my 40th Anniversary seat as the stone coloured Alcantara would soon pick up any dirt and its always on when the car goes in for MOT`s etc.
For the seat air bag I just cut a hole and got the Missus to sew a hem round it.

Re: Recommend me a protective seat cover
Have you used those exact ones? There are so many to choose from. Some reviews say certain ones rip straight away etc etc.Delanor wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 11:29 amHow about these Seat covers 4x4 owners use them when off roading etc in fact I use one on the drivers seat of my 40th Anniversary seat as the stone coloured Alcantara would soon pick up any dirt and its always on when the car goes in for MOT`s etc.

Re: Recommend me a protective seat cover
Got an aldi one today. Slapped it on my fiat as that is my winter car and it's pretty decent for a fiver. Will see how it is long term, but happy so far.
