I know for a fact it was popular with female estate agents when they first came out. That didn't last too long though once they found out about the horrific running costs :giggle:

Looked at it longingly as I arrived back in the family wagon from a trip to Cardiff where I met somebody selling a p z. I've posted what I know of that in the for sales section.

Someone do a correlation between that group and early engine failures... ;)

Good idea and very neat.

Can't help feeling that it would look better in black - but that's just my opinion.

Thank you, I wanted match as the oil cooler grilles but slightly bigger holes. Will eventually change black grille to chrome so whole front matches

Few mundane jobs, fitted some new wipers (Bosch Aerotwin) and a rear fog light bulb.
Went to replace the passenger door light only to find there was no socket, hmm I thought. Turns out the bulb was working just fine but it was lost behind the door trim and was making the plastic alarmingly hot. Armed with the workshop manual and some plastic trim tools I set about removing the trim to retrieve it, made me nervous trying to prise a few of the clips out in case something broke but all went smoothly. Turns out about the half the fasteners weren't fastened and one of the screws was missing.
All replaced and back on the door.

Whilst doing that lots of goodies turned up.

Got to work on the middle wing of the rear spoiler today (last week)....... today I was fitting the rubber protection shrouds over the springs and control linkage the coverings are made from the wiring loom on the front doors ...... once connected the rear middle wing will be unlocked and the wing will be able to move/adjust under speed will start to operate around 50/60mph and full tilt at around70/80mph I hope ;) its only taken me two years to get the right tension of spring #-o

Image

Image

springs covered in rubber seal and the control linkage will be housed inside

Image

this is the correct linkage and is 30mm and extends to 47mm depending on the angle of deflection the top part of the linkage is housed in the upper wing which is hollow :D

Image

the top two pictures are old ones

thanks for taking the time to look post a couple of pics when its complete ;)

At the risk of outing myself as a fool, what does the active aero do for the car? It's the smaller one between?

My entry for today: deflectors fitted cause I'd been splooshed for the fifth and last time by rainwater sitting in the roof dips.

Tomorrow morning: bonnet struts, supplied kindly by CraigS on the forum here. Then a weekend of shooting people with toy guns in the forest! ImageImage

Well this middle active wing and the diffuser in the picture below with some more small mods I hope to achieve a little more stability on the rear end at high speed but we will see never know till you tried ;)

Couple of things over the last few weeks:
- Failed MOT (emissions)
- Replaced cat
- Passed MOT :thumright:
- Cleaned MAF and reset NVRAM
- Replaced ignition leads with MSD ones (Mazda ones were going brittle and not sealing well, probably accelerated the cat failure but was caught early)
- Replaced chrome fuel flap with a standard Galaxy Grey one, looks miles better now. Colour match isn't 100% but still looks better than the horrible chrome one
Image

Only thing letting it down now is the corroded blingy chrome wheels. Not sure whether to get them stripped and resprayed silver or whether it'd be cheaper to just buy new wheels.

Also need to join the club properly once I get paid 8)
