Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I took the wheel off for the 100th time a torqued up all the front suspension bolts, got it down to about 5 minutes now including the jack. Know all the bolt sizes without checking...not sure if that is a good thing

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Replaced the front brake pads prior to Cadwell Park , Project Mu HC800 pads for my big brake kit, supplied by Essex Rotary, as I managed to wear the last set out big time at Donington Park , which accounted for a brief brown trouser moment exiting Craner Curves .
Now a distant memory unfortunately.

Be interesting to see how you get on with the Mu’s. Heard good reports in the past.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
This is the second set. Performance wise they have been excellent , I spent a consecutive hour and twenty minutes on track at Donington, in one long session, (98 miles approx) and braking was never an issue (does account for why I wore them out though ) They have done at least two Snetterton days and Donington plus regular driving, but do need one or two applications before they really bite if driving on the road ie. to get some heat into them.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I had some racing brake pads on my Alfa many years ago. They created a brown trouser moment when I came to a roundabout having left the motorway. The off-slip have been uphill so hadn't touched the brakes until trying to stop at the roundabout. Just missed truck coming around.
Learned to dab brakes to keep them warm but later changed to "fast road" pads as too scary.
Next track day proved that new pads just as good as race pads, at least with road tyres.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
You might find that's a bit too shiny and reflects on the windscreen, in which case a coat of satin or matt lacquer may be required.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Note’ed, but already ahead of you on that one, got a sneaky trick coming when I get further on which should cancel out windscreen reflection.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Out with the DeCat pipe and in with the Hiflow Cat, MOT due soon.
Took her for a quick 30min blast, think I prefer with the CAT, seemed smoother again more like with OE exchaust but with the great sound.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Painted my spoiler in Mazda's soul red crystal, took an age as it required so many coats then left it to dry overnight.
Have sanded the damaged areas back but as it's a two stage base I think I'm gonna have to start from scratch
Unfortunately I left the window open a crack to let it air a bit and heard a noise in the early morning around 3am or so, a fox or cat had got in and then flipped out being trapped and knocked the spoiler to the floor and ruined the paint Have sanded the damaged areas back but as it's a two stage base I think I'm gonna have to start from scratch
