Excellent job with the rear lights!
I'm never brave enough to do mods like that as I always think I will cock it up somehow!

What you need to do is shine a light on the red circle element, if that reflects properly then you'll be fine - if it doesn't then that'll be your main issue. All UK cars have to have rear reflectors on. The R3 moved them to just above the exhaust, but on the S1 lights they're in the actual tail lights.

That does beg the question about the R3 style lights for the S1... Do they have reflectors in them?

These are a second spare set I bought to play with as I was afraid it would go all wrong or I would get excited and make them too dark 8)

Also been a while but added a nice half tint to the rear lights - not to everyones taste but gave it that sleepy eye look.

Marginally, Chris ;)

Stops a bit better as well. Weird that...

Have to say, the pedal feel is quite different, but in a positive way. And the stopping power once they're up to temp is fantastic

Haha, thanks for the kind words, I think... lol.

TBH they weren't as expensive as they look - the group buy price was £599. Not exactly cheap, but as far as BBK kits go they were

Hi, what paint did you use for the tint? I've used film tint on mine but there's some small creases which I'm not happy with.

Just used, E-TECH LENS TINT LIGHT TINTING SPRAY SMOKE BLACK 300ML off ebay, bought two tins but only used one as didn't want too dark, followed by a halfords body shop lacquer, then wet and dry and cut. Have another tin for brake light and maybe front indicators.

The stopping power will be improved as you now have friction material instead of steel on steel stopping you! LOL

Fitted some 20mm spacers and attempted to fit my RX8OC window stickers I picked up at Combe, however, they were not great quality and they are now in the bin!
2009 RX8 R3 in Crystal White - - -> Racing Beat backbox / ToyoSports sports cat / Lockwood grills / 20mm Super-GT spacers / personalised plate / hard-wired dash cam - - -> Next is upgraded head unit with reversing camera and a new spoiler.

Had a productive day but think I may now have heatstroke.

Saw an ad on gumtree a couple of days ago for a £300 non runner that mentioned it had very clean bodywork, decided to view it with an aim to do an engine swap on as my current RX8 had a full rebuild 5k ago but has sadly succumbed to the tin worm and the MOT is due next month, they put it as an advisory last year though it was close to a fail.

I've viewed quite a few local to me other the past couple of months but they all have had the tale tale signs of the start of rust on the rear aches and sills and this was quite a gamble due to the distance.

I emailed the guy on gumtree and enquired as to if it has any signs of rust at all so I drove down this afternoon to Worthing on the hottest day (with no aircon  ) to look at it and apart from the engine issues it's pristine so I called up a recovery truck to take it home which the did for a pound per mile :)

The lowloader arrived just gone half 8 so I gave it a hose down and took a pic.

Looking good. Really like the bonnet. Could Maybe do with a bigger front lip and lowering. Then it would be spot on.
