Plugs and coils pulled out on Smedleys car and found that all had been arcing and the plugs were ...well I will let you judge from the photos.
Fitted my old spare plugs and coils and boxed it all back up again and about to go for a drive to see if its any different. Two of the plugs certainly showed signs of fuel wash!

Started attacking the various paint chips and damaged paint on the rear passenger door from parking (thanks whoever did this)

Door looking miles better bonnet needs more work. I'm a bit rubbish with touch up. The best route I've found is to touch up the paint, leave it to dry and then sand back the excess.

To be honest the bonnet has so many chips it could so with the respray. ImageImage

Fitted some mesh to the oil coolers as per the how to on here. Nice easy job. Should have done it sooner

Also fitted my new front lip. Not sure if I should colour code it or not. Need to see how it looks parked up in the day light.

Good job Thomo, so easy to do it's an absolute no brainer.

To anyone else, if you haven't already, do it it's well worth it! :thumleft:

After painting the calipers on Wednesday I added decals to them all and spent the last three afternoons fitting MTEC discs (came recommended) and Brembo pads. It took so long because of various issues encountered along the way... and it being my first time. The guide on this forum was extremely helpful though. I tightened the handbrake afterwards; what a wonderfully easy job that is.

All works fine and even without all the black coating worn off I'm impressed by the new brakes, especially at £204 delivered.

Thanks for the spots that the rear drop link has gone. I'd thought the noise was a can of tyre weld knocking around the boot. I've ordered a pair to try to fit myself next week. Putting mesh on the coolers and rad will have to wait a bit longer. Shame as I want the mesh out of my office!

Pics below.

I think the clue is the lack of corrosion on the hex. I would guess less than 6 months and less than 5000 miles. Is there a prize?

(You'd probably find that those plugs would self-clean when the new coils are fitted, and the car is taken for a decent revvy drive)

No prize but its c1000 miles and I would agree if it were not for the fact that the centre electrodes are considerably burned away as is the side electrode and also the side electrodes have been bent down toward the centre one. The outside pristine condition certainly contrasts with the inside state. Curious though how two of the plugs have no carbon on the outer rim.

Car previously would pop and occasionally flame plus puffed out crap at gear changes when pushed hard. Now apparently it runs smoother pulls better and has stopped popping.

£595, so easy to fit, changing brake pads will take about 2 minutes as all you have to do is undo an 6mm Allen bolt, the calipers are identical and made by the same people who make the AP version, only difference is AP powdercoat theirs
