I haven't reached the stage that the instructions will be needed yet(!!), but swapped the 150w Alpine for a 300w InPhase with smaller dimensions. Made a few little cuts to the storage box to 'help' it fit and it's held nicely in place. Also added a preliminary port in the front face which I'll sort out after a test of the sub :)

That's pretty neat, I had an active sub in the old Rex but never got round to refitting in the new one, it also took up a good chunk of boot space.
Anyone have the subwoofer wiring to hand, IIRC I spliced into the speaker outputs last time...

I like this option as it isn't taking up any cabin or boot space :)
I don't have a diagram, but if I've got it all sorted in my head, you'll have a fused power (red or yellow), ground (black), remote (blue), all going to sub, then 2 pairs speaker wire (left & right) taken from the rear parcel shelf speakers to the hi-low converter and then a pair of RCA's from the converter to the sub, think that's all?

I took power from back of the cigarette lighter socket, as I didn't want to overload the supply to the rear amps.

Actually run a two core cable, with the 2nd connected from the cigarette lighter light to a couple of tiny blue leds mounted just inside the hole for the sub.

Just for added bling

I'll go straight to the battery for power I think..

For your feeds from the 6x9's, do you splice before or after the amp to add the HI-low converter??

So the same 'amped up' signal that the car speakers receive goes to the converter and then the amp?

Why not just use the signal before the amp, and then not need a converter or have I got that all arse over tit?!

The signal between the head unit and the amp is Bose proprietary and impedance matched, it's not an RCA output, unlike most off-the shelf stuff. T'ing in at this point would upset the system.

The converter box is designed to T-in at the back of the speakers and accepts speaker-level input without adding (significant) load.

I knew there was a good reason, but I can only retain so much of the info I read when looking into this stuff! Image

Simples, the door opens to the normal angle or you can push it upwards any time before that.

Been busy this week painted the rear bumper and rear spoiler refitted the bumper made a template and then fitted the rear spoiler washed and polished and loving the look of the spoiler.

The 8.5mm magnecor leads came Friday from Ben at RRevs so went about fitting the new NKG plugs leads and fitting my D585's coils after fabricating a mounting bracket copying of mrspillers original ones.
So a very productive week.
Sold my z3 on Monday so I've freed up an insurance policy so it's taxed and insured for me to take to get the suspension alignment done. I'm like a little kid in a sweetshop Image

New rear discs and pads, near side rear spring and drop link courtesy of Josh, JB and Lewis @ LC Rotary. Thanks for the laughs and great service.

Got home, put the Cataclean in the tank with just below 1/4 tank, drove down to Guildford in 3rd gear running between 7K and 8K. Filled up and went for a drive down to Churt. Dinner and nice drive back via the Surrey Downs.

What a great day.
