Post by Rx8-Col. » Sun Jun 19, 2016 7:05 pm

Good to meet a few of you guys today. I'm terrible with names but will remember faces.

Had a great time out on track. That was until the EVO span right in front of me and ruined it for us all. Not quite sure how I didn't lose it on all his oil, shows how stable the 8 is I guess :D

Had to shoot off a bit early as up for work at 2am. Looking forward to the next one though. Might have to join in the one in December.

It was a great day and nice to meet all again along with a few new faces. My Daughter had a great day too and said it was nice to meet everyone. Sorry we didn't get to say goodbye to to a few but had disappeared, probably to have a walkabout. Shame about the oil but at least it was towards the end of the session. Take care all and hope to see you again soon. Btw. Bacon rolls were yummy. Thank you

Had a great day, and it was so nice to meet all who showed up... such a welcoming crew.

Please find photographs that I took - they're not the best quality, but there are a few decent shots amongst them, please feel free to use them if you wish: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... f33fba81cf

Also a bit of video footage of the RX8 OC's track time taken around Druid's – again please excuse the quality, something's better than nothing though I suppose https://vimeo.com/171318513

Already posted in the old thread. But had a great time guys. Definitely up for going again. Think I will upgrade the brakes before then though.

Good selection of cars turned up. Shame no other 40th's but was nice to have a wide variety on show.

I had a really good (and really long - I've been dozing pretty much ever since I got home  ) day in excellent company. :D Good to see everybody who came and to meet some new people (new to me anyway ;) ). As ever, thanks to the bacon and burger chefs =D> and to Pete and Nigel for doing all the organisation and getting us such a good spot. I'm enjoying the photos and videos that have been posted so far - I really shouldn't be so lazy not to take any of my own

Excellent day out totally sums the event up. Great videos of Ryan, Ian and Joe followed by me discovering oil on the track!!

This is my video of the whole short session
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGzZaGR ... e=youtu.be

Lap times from watching the video, give or take a second. Pedestrian pace when you consider the Audi A* Time Attack car was lapping at 50.1 secs!!

1: 67
2: 63
3: 67 Slowed for faster cars
4: 66
5: 66 Slowed for faster cars
6: 66
7: Oil stopped the session

Plus a little "short" of Ryan, Ian and Joe playing with some Evo oil

Tunerfest (South) Photos videos and feedback

Post by GreySilver Beast » Mon Jun 20, 2016 6:04 pm

Well sorry Guys and Gals for the delay in posting up :( ,but I was absolutely shattered when I got home last night and also suffering from Sunburn #-o

So what can I say it was a fantastic day with a fantastic location right next door to Supercar Siege and so close to the Toilets and Paddock Office as well =D> We also had Modified Girls wright next door to us,although nothing like what I Googled the night before

Well a big thank you must go to you guys and gals for showing up and making this all possible,so thank you from the
Events Team also must thank the super Caren along with Trudie who cooked the Bacon Rolls in the Morning,so many thanks =D>

The Track Session was pretty good considering it had been changed about 3 times over the last few weeks, but sorry that we couldn't make it totally exclusive as 6 places had already been sold even before we were able to take the remaining block Session from Time Attack :!:

It was great seeing all the happy faces which is what the
Events Team love seeing as this makes it all worth while for us to organise the Event =D> =D> =D> =D>

Thank you for all your kind Feedback,Photo's and Video's so far and look forward to seeing you all again at another Event this year :thumleft:

The Evo what came of the track was an evo9 you [edited] and the banjo came away from the oil cooler causing oil to travel over the wheels causing the car to spin (accidents happen) your obviously oblivious to that the same as the model of the car , but on the up hand it was good to see all the irritating wasps(rx8s) get a spanking by proper tuned cars which were not hogging the hole track and obviously didn't listen to the briefing

Hi Miscuser 2016,
Your absolutely right, accidents do happen and they happen often on race circuits.
I could have told you your oil cooler pipe had come adrift even as I was dabbing the brakes and sliding through Graham Hill bend on your oil as you took to the grass on the left in a cloud of oil smoke.
That's just bad maintenance and preparation but it does happen.

What makes you the biggest pillock of the day is the fact that you didn't turn the engine off and sit there.
You kept the engine running in clouds of oil smoke and smell and drove back to the pits.... ON THE RACING LINE....
If you'd wanted to drive off the track you should have gone straight across from where you were to the emergency exit.
Which bit of the briefing told you to drive your car obviously losing oil on the track back to the pits..ON THE RACING LINE..
I think our club has been very fair with you. I can't print what the officials, racers and public thought and said of you but you were the (insert appropriate word) of the show.

PS: I let you past on the start/finish straight only to have you take Paddock Hill bend like a Granny.
I had to brake hard and then even change down a gear to avoid ramming you.
Take it to the drag strip because if you hold that up as good or fast driving the Evo forum must be laughing.
I was on no name Chinese rubber as well :)

PPS: I,m happy for your posts to be left up

And you were smoking oil on the bend before the one you span on. I moved over so you could pass safely, although I'm sure you could have passed easily anyway. I don't know why you then carried on into the next bend on the inside, trying to take it far to tight even for your EVO. You span directly in front of me, causing me to have to avoid you, whilst trying to steer around all the oil. You must have known something was wrong with your car.

As previously mentioned, you probably should have just waited on the grass, although the track was already covered in oil by that point. I hope you didn't do too much damage to your car though. Luckily I think every one involved came out of it ok.
