Last of the year, Xmas themed one. Xmas jumpers welcomed and I will call ahead, they should be doing Xmas menu by then.
Would be nice to get all past attendees or new ones out to this. I think we had a record breaking paid members in attendance last year. MK/Cotswold meet attendees strongly encouraged
Monthly meet that all are welcome to attend, so please come along on between 7pm to 7:30pm and a table will be booked from 7:30pm
Location
The PackHorse

Just scoping interest for a monthly meet in the oxfordshire Area. Im here in the week so was thinking a midweek tues-thurs evening. Usual set up of meeting for a meal in a pub and chat about rx8 things in the winter. Perhaps a drive out in the summer evenings and then meal or the other way round.
Anyone interested? Ill start the list going, even if your not able every month to make the meet but think you could make even 1 or 2 a year to this area please comment and ill add you to list. Would be nice to have a quite centrally located meet to attend. Seems to be an area lacking though i know we have quite a few members aroind he like MightyCondor and NickP.

I may be able to make the occasional one depending on which part of Oxfordshire.
so this is going to be the next question. Now me and nick are down south east oxfordshire i know that. Not sure where your at alan but i turn off j6 of the m40 amd head Benson village way. Oxford itself looking at the county is pretty central but not car friendly. Does anyone have any good pub suggestions as already within an hour we have numbers to make worth while running this

Nigel hasnt declared interest as of yet Rob. No carpet required at min. Thanks for the offer though. Perhaps we should just line his common travelled motroways in red carpet for him.

[/He probably will show an interest now the carpet has been mentioned, not sure he could stomach hotpot and black pudding though.
I would be up for this, Im in Wallingford so very much in the area for Drew & Nick. I tend to work Tuesday nights at the moment so Wednesday or Thursday preferable. Also regarding location, purely selfish, I would prefer something more south Oxfordshire but also help back that up that the roads are nicer for driving down here than further north. All depends on the general location and Bicester isn't out of the question. There is a nice village pub close to me that hosts a car meet once a month, it attracts a lot of people and spreads onto the cricket field but as a possible alternative location they could facilitate a meet. Happy to help with other suggestions as I have lived around Oxfordshire for many years.
Think you will find I have declared my interest on the names list - Events Team

Ah i didnt realise there was another here, wallingford is closest town to my work. Going tonight actually for some shopping.
That pub in the summer sounds very interesting. Is this car meet during the week they do?
I only moved here 4 months ago and except for the m40 and road from it, that is all i do here. Until next summer when i think the r3 will reside here after the Snowdon run for the summer and then back home to be winter garaged.
Of course we can do a rotation of places. I know some of the other monthly meets have 3 or 4 regular places throughout the county that cater for fair sharing of driving. Of course a further south than bicester works for me but then im not opposed once a month to travel 40 mins for a good catch up and car talk.
This is very promising though. Lots more people than i thought are within reach of here. Perhaps ill nudge this on the FB page to

I'm In Reading, so would consider anything south of Oxford as easily accessible.
Based on the current responses, a location near Oxford would be a fair centre point, especially if near the A34 or M40 (although the proposed Wallingford location is great for me).
4-5 years ago there was a short lived meet at The Fox Inn just west of the A34 between Oxford and Abingdon
Good show so far everyone. Great we have 9 potentials already. Seems a bit of a split between north and south oxfordshire. So either i think we go central where everyone does a bit of driving or we alternate between 2 north and south, if people dont mind a shorter drive then a longer. Be nice if we can have a consistent amount though and my personal leaning is towards central. About to look at Alans suggestion kf the fox if been used before?

One to perhaps avoid I would suspect for the club meet unless we show up in force but shows that they would be more than willing to support some organised meet on other days im sure.

I must add that the car meet is a very good night out, it draws a huge variety of stuff, not all classics but everyone of a similar interest and is particularly pleasant on a nice summers evening with a pint of something to wander around with. Just a suggestion for anyone remotely local as an aside to the club meet chat.
I certainly will be up for that meet aswell as others. Perhaps we should keep our meet not on the 2md tuesday so we could meet up twice in the month. The monthly oxfordshire meet and then anyone who wants to go the 2nd tues of month car meet we can plod there together aswell.
