Another good evening and turnout. x4 Rx8s with 3 R3s. Shame an old battle tank merc and cyclist was ruining the theme, but a 6 member turn out for the last winter call out is a good show. Looking forward to mine being back on the road next week and hopefully we can time a meet for us all to be in an 8 for a photo op. Alan you may just have to drive towards me a bit then we can come down in tandem to warm one of yours up......

Also....discussions of a Norway road trip.......start saving pennies everyone. You heard it here first. Summer 2025 could be epic.....

i tell you what, the rain certainly made for an interesting drive home last night.

it wasn't treacherous but certainly required being gentle on the throttle.

The following may help put this into perspective and provide indicative an indicative cost. Clearly there are multiple route choices but in 2018 our route was as below;

Drive.........Calais-Bruges-Hirtshals
O/N Ferry...Hirtshals-Bergen
Drive.........Bergen-Balestrand-Gerainger-Kristiansund-Atlantic highway-Trondheim-Lillehammer-Oslo-Langesund
Ferry..........Langesund-Hirtshals
Drive.........Hirtshals-Calais

The above was c3500 miles including Cheltenham to Dover and took us from 20th April until 5th May with a total cost of c£2500 fuel & Air BnBs exc: food & ferries due to road closures!! Our hotel in
We were too early in the year for the mountain passes to be open so if you do go then late summer would be a better time when the snows have melted and the roads will be open and the waterfalls in full flow.

Just a thought, I actually have my R3 with me this week and next in Oxford. With the clocks forward and a bit lighter on an evening, would any of the usual faces (or new ones) fancy a drive out around the Wallingford/North Reading area and to our new PackHorse frequent for a bite or just refreshment after on Tues 9th? Or perhaps convoy to caffeine and machine or somewhere similar near here? Would be a shame to waste an opportunity to enjoy my car in the evenings around here, so I'll be doing something.

Sounds interesting. Thats only 10 min from me so definately happy to go and then maybe do a nice run out to the pack horse from there? Maybe even via some known good roads in the area
