North Wales Drive out - New info Pg1 for 17 Oct

Pub meets, drives and social events. For good food and good company while the car stays in the car park, or for a pleasurable drive through the countryside.

A great day, good company and good scenery. Thanks for organising it Drew.
Pam and Rupi loved it, Pam especially liked the stops and chats, Rupi the snakey roads, the Horseshoe Pass and the views.Image

Thanks for the replies guys. This may be my last in rex for the year until april/may next year as she gets tucked away for the winter. Could look at a continued pub meal meet once a month, i know many nice dining places like Chandlers of trefriw or Riverside of Betws to keep things alive in the dark winter evenings.

Liam, no problem. Your down, its an allsorts meet so scooby will be fine. If your coming up the a5 through betws again and it remains only us 2, then you may aswell come to mine as is on route and well just potter down. Will DM you details.

This is it, its why i'm trying to make the most of the weather - cause you know it won't last much longer. Its not even that cold yet :D
The pub meal sounds good, although i wonder if taking it on to the Shropshire meets would be the way to go? If its not too far out?

Sounds good. Let me know what your up for. We sure there aren't an other takers? πŸ™ƒ

Definatly think tagging meal onto the Shropshire meet is the way to go given the North Wales regulars are few and far between.
And boosting the numbers on the Shropshire meet would be good.

The Shropshire meet i believe is in the week? By all means if that suits everyone better then easier to do that. Im normally only free sat or sun, hence they have been weekend drives. May be able to get to the odd Shropshire one though.

My Car is not going to have the work done until Monday now 😑 but with the rear bearing getting more and more grumbly πŸ€• I dont want to risk any damage to a rear hub or bearing failure by thrashing her around the twisty roads.
Times like this I wish I had bought that 192, its still there, passed it today, very tempted.πŸ€”
I have a an excellent Toyota MR2 to shift so no room at present 😑

Just go buy it as a 2nd toy. Quick wash and ready for sunday πŸ˜‚ its an all sorts park up meet on the sea front me and liam going to. You can drive down in a van if you want and just park on hill for a coffee and chat. Me amd liam will be there from about 9:10-9:15

Won't buy it as a toy, just to flip, the only thing putting me off is it needs a clutch, I have a new Excedy kit but that's for mine when the new engine goes in. Very tempted though.
May pop and see you both on Saturday at Rhos in Agatha but won't go on the rest due to the bearing, she has been washed and polished so is presentable.

I have a an excellent Toyota MR2 to shift so no room at present 😑
Depending how bad they get, your generally not going to hurt anything that your not replacing when doing the bearing. I'm not sure if you can replace the whole Hub Assemblies on the 8s or you buy the bearing itself and press have it pressed into the hub.
I don't blame you for not driving him much though. The noise is truly horrible. I had one that had got so bad it sounded like a deflated tractor tyre was on the car. I'm attending my next therapy session for it next Monday.

What age/mark is the MR2? The 90s ones i really like the look of. They have a pretty cult following, being mid engined, RWD, manual and all.
