Peak District Driving Day, Sunday, **TBA**

Pub meets, drives and social events. For good food and good company while the car stays in the car park, or for a pleasurable drive through the countryside.

Peak District Driving Day, Sunday, **TBA**

Post by willberry70 » Sat Jan 04, 2020 3:52 pm

Hiya Guys,
I'm planning a driving day in the peaks and I thought it would be an excellent idea to invite along anyone who's interested.

Whilst I'm open to suggestions from anyone with more local knowledge, I'm thinking we start at 10:30 from the Yeaveley Arms car park (in Yeaveley near Ashbourne, SE side of the Peaks).

Then drive up to Macclesfield via the Cat and Fiddle run (via A515 and A537).

Then up to Glossop for Lunch at the Royal Oak Inn and back down via the A57 and Snake Pass.
Had mis-written as Snakebite Pass, but that just takes me back to my student days, hohoho.

Then back to the Yeaveley Arms, perhaps for a drink and dinner.

Obviously as I'm based SE of the Peaks this is mostly suited to my location, but anyone can still enjoy tagging along for just a single leg with company and the spare leg solo (or at least without me, but with other guys) if it suits.

I'm thinking April Sunday 19th or 26th, with some flexibility regarding which to try and avoid naff weather.

Let me know if you're interested ;)

Interested parties so far are:

Chris231 ??
AdamGalress ??
GreySilver Beast??
New Duke ??
Chris Holmes (26th only)

Sounds good, however, does the cat and fiddle now have speed cameras?

Titanium Grey, bling wheels (set number 6) Now gone but will never be forgotten, sat nav, I-mob tracking, SS Strakes, full set of RB grills, K&N Filter and Borla zorst. Now lowered.

Just ask me where anything is, it will be in the boot!!

Now she's "the reasonably priced car is the star" as driven by Jason Plato on Fifth Gear. :notworthy:

Was an enjoyable drive out.

I would be up for this, only top half tho. Meet at macclesfield.

Sure its Snake Pass. Snakebite pass is the Alcoholics route.

I'm sure it does have speed cameras, but if you can take those hairpins at 50, then I want to know what tyres you're using :D

I'm thinking it makes more sense to lunch at the Royal Oak Inn on the way out of Glossop. That'd make lunch around 1pm.

Only 2hrs to the start from home so why the hell not with that route you have plotted.

Cannot make the 19th April as I am in Brighton for the 1/2 marathon, relax I am just supporting Kathy, but 26th is fine. Off to Zanti on the 4th May, its a tough life!

Although Annie and I live in Surrey, we visit my parents in Derby (Borrowash) every month or 2.

This sounds good, so we’ll try to fit a visit there around the date of this run. I’ve put this on my diary but probably won’t be able to commit until the week before.

Maybe do a little drive in some way

Are there any Pubs/Fast Food in the area doing Take Aways or Roadside Food Vans in the area :?:

Outside Meet would be possible seeing we all have Camping Chairs for Events we go to with the Club :thumright:
