Ok would we be better off going back to Thursday nights?
I'm only just back so I presume no-one turned up for Sunday lunch.
Shout out if you're good for Thursdays.

Hi Guys
Two things.
One a quick call out for Thursday night. Who's interested?

Two, as you're all fairly local, can anyone help me?
Before I realised how it was attached, I managed to drop one of the battery clamps and it's fallen down into the bowels of my 8 (not all the way out the bottom but I see there's a cover there, so that's where it'll be). Maybe if I dared take the airbox out I'd be able to get it, but I'm at the point where I'm not confident I could get back on anything I managed to take off. Now I can give Luke Murdoch a buzz and see when he's next passing but that seems overkill. So I wondered if anyone local knew what they were doing and could lend me a hand. I'm South side of Derby :D

Cheers,
Will.

Will on your other issue, if you Google rx8 airbox removal there are a few videos, that would enable you to remove your own airbox, if you follow the steps got should be able to accomplish it fairly easily. No tools required unless your wish to totally take it out, but you should gain the access required to find your battery terminal without totally removing your airbox.

Thanks for the tip. I will try YouTube.
Sadly it's not the terminal though, it's one of the clamps that're on each side to keep the battery secure. 6" of metal clip knocking about :(

Will, if its dropped into the under tray ,then removing one or two of the 8mm bolts securing it to the bumper bottom edge should give you enough room to get your hand in.
failing that, there is a rubber flap behind the wheels that also allows access, rob.

Another alternative is, you can remove the battery, then the box itself (the one that it sits in) if I remember correctly there are 2 or 3 10mm bolts holding the lower section in place which may allow you to retrieve the offending article.

Yup, thought of that, looks like one big bolt, but there are some large, firm tube/pipes supported/connected to the box, and I'm not touching them :(

Great advice but I couldn't see anything in the tray from the front. The radiator seems to span most of the width. The clamp/rod might be on the rear of that :(

Cheers mate, sadly if I could turn up it wouldn't be in my 8 :(
