Oh dear Septembers meet was a “No Show” event but hopefully October will see the “regulars” and possibly some new people attending.

Where did I say no Dan? I suggested a drive out on 15th October but that clashed with Azam Dorset drive out so scrapped that one.
Moving toward Evesham moves the venue further from Lemon, JoshC and Reloy actually moving south could make more sense.
As Pond House was a great success maybe you should try to start a monthly pub meet near Evesham.
What do you suggest I do with the Allsorts meet to “shake it up a bit” as you say.

I was talking to team Pat at Castle Combe who may be able to do a Sunday.
How about somewhere like the hunters hall at Kingscote ( green king ) so cheap

I'm not suggesting moving it up here at all, I can't make it this evening anyways, I was talking more in general. A change of venue, a change of rough location - as you say, further south, further north, further east or west etc. may help.

It may just be that a monthly mid-week cotswolds meet isn't doable over winter for people in the same way it used to be, but banging the same drum every month when this formula doesn't appear to be working seems futile to me.

I've done a couple at C&M which were well received, but they were on weekends. Not suggesting this moves to C&M, but there's gotta be similar kinda venues down that way or further afield?

You misunderstood, I didn't suggest moving the Allsorts meet up to Evesham I simply said moving it in that direction moves it further from some attendees which would not be sensible, but I did suggest you started a new meet up in your area which your are of course clear do should you wish.
Moving further East takes the meet nearer to the Oxford meet so that I think would not work.
The format of a pub and meal is proven to work in most areas and if available Caffeine and Machine style venues are great for summer evenings and weekends all year round.

Why do you seem to twist what I post? I was suggesting you set up an Evesham area meet nowhere did I say I was giving approval, your post suggests I have some sort of authority to give permission for you to arrange a meet which is simply not so.
It is not the format of the Cotswold Allsorts and Essex meets that is the problem, no one has complained, it is simply a matter of some people moving on to other cars, having prior arrangements and of course costs.
Perhaps a monthly frequency is to frequent, perhaps quarterly would suit people better, who knows?

Anyoo, if we are seeing a general decline on events like this then there is clearly something that needs looking at. As you've said "people moving on to other cars" and yet there are still lots of members. What worked for those who have left may not work for those who have not - hence my suggestion for mixing things up.

You seem hell-bent on keeping this event exactly as it is, which is fine - since based on the whole "please lock the thread" fiasco this is your event to do with as you wish.

I will try and set up a monthly meet around the Evesham/ North Cotswolds area in the new year with varying dates and formats to see what works, and you are of course clear to continue doing this event as you wish

There is a few within the club who are striving for change, and a few that are striving against it - which is a shame.

I thought we were having a constructive chat, but evidently you didn't take it that way - so apologies if that's the case.

Not sure what I've posted which sits i the bucket of not how you'd 'expect a committee member to post', because I always strive to find ways to help improve and develop the club in the face of diminishing numbers - which is exactly what my comments here have been intending to do.

I still don't understand why this thread and the Essex thread both seem intent on staying the course, despite diminishing numbers. Malcolm seems keen to review the Essex meet with the people who can attend, but this one doesn't seem to want to change and move with the times.

The meet lived up to its Allsorts name today with an FK8, BMW Estate and M3 attending. The usual impressive display of cars were on show.
