B Wiser just quoted £1500 as most competitive price, they said all quotes ill get will be around this figure, i said funny that because everybody else is quoting under £800......................everybody out to rob me! again

WELL Spank me and call me monkey!!

Rang AF and they have stood by there online quote of £730, added break down cover which is better and cheaper than my current one, so Insurance for year, with all Mods declared is!

£784!

This is almost £500 cheaper than my renewal with my current insurer Aviva!!

Waiting on a form to come from them now as its a mods declaring form, although ive already stated these on the online quote and verbally over the phone to which my quote is based upon.

Last time AF did this i sent it back and my policy went up by 50%!! and i had to cancel it!

If they do it again ill be really annoyed!!

AF
Why do all insurance companies offer a cheaper quote if I add my wife to the policy even though she never drives the RX8 ?

Hiya,

It will depend on the insurance company and how they underwrite each individual risk. Some insurance companies give discount for insured only and others give discount for insured and spouse.

Wouldn't use these people if they were the last insurer left on the planet.

Rang for a quote as they advertise/trade on the site and they quoted £220 more than my renewal. When I told him he was well out guess what? suddenly he could get within a tenner of my renewal price by "talking to a supervisor". I will never deal with companies that try it on. If that's the way they want to do business then that's fine - it just wont be business with me.

All insurance is trying it on, they provide xxx milloins of pounds of funding to the government, so they pay the policy makers. Seems these guys have went the way of the rest :(

Big up for Admiral - quick quote and at £306 was a £75 quid cheaper than my renewal. Called them rather than completing on line. Very helpful girl in Canada checked the details, had a chat about the weather, paid and hung up. Painless, very good service, no waiting and a cracking price. Oh! and that's with telling them about the couple of mild mods.

Horses for courses in this game really... I thought I'd give Admiral a shot but was quite surprised that their quote was over £200 more than Adrian Flux - who were also cheaper than online quotes by £30, so Adrian Flux have won this year for me.

Regards - Andrew

My Insurance is upfor renewal in few weeks and I thought I would give this comapny a chance to quote since they are a trader on this forum. I called on Monday gave them all my details and they said they would call back the next day with a quote, its now Friday and not heard a thing so needless to say thay cant be too bothered about my business. Also they asked what my lowest quote so far was so I told them what it was from the usual comparison websites (and also what my renewal from existing company was). When I told them what the lowest quote was they said well those sites dont include insurance premium tax so it will be higher when you come to buy it (no it wont I have used them before and its always been price quoted) I go for customer service rather than price and if this company cant be bothered to get back to me with a quote then god knows how helpful they would be should I have to make a claim. First impressions count and they have lost potential business here.

Hi

Thank you for the PM. I have checked the call and it looks as though we confirmed if we could compete with your rate after referal, we would try and call you or send an email. Leave it with me and I will get someone to call you and confirm the result of that referal.

Thanks

Dan

Seems like this thread is being used to give feedback on the company. I'm happy to say that I just insured my RX-8 with Adrian Flux and I was very happy with the phone call (although the call was suddenly terminated the first time I was being transferred :? ). I managed to get a quote as good as the ones I got from other companies without the need to install a telematics box and I was quite happy with that.

One thing I would recommend as feedback for staff is to not rush when explaining things, especially payment options. I'm saying this because I wanted to pay monthly instalments and the guy on the phone just gave me one option. I then requested the details to be sent to me via email so I could do a proper review of the quote and I noticed more options them the ones explained to me on the phone, I then phoned back and bought the policy.
