Subframe advice needed

Post by Creasy »

Hi, would you consider these subframes and underneath heavily corroded from what can be seen? Thanks in advance

The sills look a bit tender you need to give them a poke with a screwdriver, the subframe looks like a nightmare to adjust the set up ,is this your car

As mentioned, you need to get all the flaky stuff off first to reveal what is hidden, i hope you find some decent metal. Don't be put off if you find holes in the cill area, it is a simple repair for any competent welder.

It's not my car but am thinking of buying it. It's a long drive from me so want to make sure before I set off. It's an 2008 so I expect a bit of wear but, I am unsure if it's trouble... One guy spent 2 hours looking at it the decided it wasn't worth it. Since then the price for reduced.

I would look for a better one unless you are good with the spanners ,the subframe could be sand blasted ,new cam bolts but it gets expensive

Thanks guys 🤗. Anybody got some photos of what a good underneath should look like, one that hasn't been sandblasted/paintedni mean, just original condition. Cheers
