RX-8 Body Kit

Post by GlowingBulb »

I'm looking for recommendations for a reliable source for a body kit for my 2006 S1, eBay being the obvious place but I've heard horror stories about the purchased kits not fitting well at all.

I know that Lucy 8 Racing can source kits, they seem like quality items but he's not been active / online in over a month.

If any of you can give me a steer to a reputable source / manufacturer I'd appreciate it.

Cheers!

Gareth

Aftermarket kits are always a bit hit and miss with fitting to be fair but anyone competent can get them to look good

I got mine from topbodykit.co.uk

Were a bit slow to ship but with a bit of chasing they were OK to deal with. Not the biggest range and did take a bit of messing to get the fitment right but can't complain for the price

I will keep an eye on this. I'm looking for a source for a Mazdaspeed kit for my S1 Nemesis. I think genuine MS kits are like rocking horse poo, so it has to me looky likely ones.

So for the only place I have found is like your self, eBay and madmotors.co.uk. The latter looking like the better option I think.

I've got the Aerokit replica front and rear and the fitment was really pretty good... just a bit of carving out of the indicators (which come with no holes), and bit of shaving in the same area.

Cheers guys, Madmotors do seem to be the safest bet but you never know until you take the plunge.

Where did you buy the kit from?

Maybe a blend of different parts would give you a good look, i.e

R3 rear bumper conversion with Spirit R tail lights - perfect fit and a nice looks
R3 Side Skirts - again perfect fit and look just as good as any I've seen.
The front can then be a well chosen one to match in or even just a front splitter on the front bumper like the OEM one.

Aftermarket kits can be a nightmare and often end up more expensive than OEM to get looking right.

Fair comment really, I never thought of using any R3 bits but I expect that it'd be much easier to track down bits. Brilliant idea thanks!
