What is the purpose of this plug? + a request for bolts
I was doing some maintenance today and came across this strange conector. It comes straight out of the loom and sits just below the SSV actuator, but the connector is just a bridge. What purpose could it possibly have? Is it meant to be connected to something and a previous owner decided not to use it so bridged it?
Also if anyone on here has any upper manifold bolts they dont need, please PM me as 2 of mine are absolutely sha**ed and I can't seem to find any, even when searching for the part number :/

That is very perculiar isn't it. Just leaving a random plug in the engine bay. Mine is an 06 so not too new in terms of these cars

Would this have an impact on SSV operation if you swapped an older engine into a newer car keeping the newer cars wiring loom?

Re: What is the purpose of this plug? + a request for bolts
My guess would be that this is a simple power and gnd which may have been needed for the oldest type of SSV so if you swapped to an older engine, the SSV would have a male plug to connect this to

Some PCM loads support the MIL code P2070 [SSV stuck open] which uses a position sensor on the SSV.
If the SSV doesn't have the position sensor then the link plug prevents the MIL
