Just received a set of used polyfilled engine mounts off ebay as the R3s are totally flogged - as you can see in the picture I'm able to easily push in the bottom rubber bit, is that normal? I presume that's just a cover of some sort and not the bit holding the engine up but thought I'd sanity check before going ahead with putting them in.
Should my used polyfilled engine mounts do this?

That's how mine looked... Those look untouched to me, as you pore the liquid mix into the base, and those rubber boots haven't even been pierced by the looks of it, so I'd love to know how they got the poly in there...

As above, yours look like just standard old ones I'm afraid.

I was going to put an 'allegedly' in front of 'polyfilled' in my post above. So I've just got a used set of stockers eh? Any way to tell if they're duds without being on the car? (I assume not)

Not really.
I'd get a refund tbh.

When I made mine I totally removed the corrugated rubber and even the plastic "valve" section with a hole saw and then filled to the brim with polyurethane, there was nothing visible above the metal apart from polyurethane

The seller refunded £30 since they weren't as described, but then I fitted one tonight and discovered its flogged too. Not really surprised. Seller is going to refund me so just my time lost there.
Now to order a set from RRP instead of buggering around with second hand ones...
