Free to a good home

Post by wgimenes »

Hello everyone. Long time no see/hear/post.

It is with great sadness that I must admit defeat and let my RX8 go.

It's been sitting on my drive on a SORN since Nov/19 and I'm unlikely to be able to enjoy her again.

It's a Velocity Red, 05 Reg, with (I think) just over 70K miles and healthy (when it was done) compression result.

It has 4 usable tires, good interior (driver seat heater doesn't work), Aux adapter, side skirts, etc, etc. It looks really good.

Price: Nothing - Zilch - Nada.

I'd like someone that will put her back on the road to come and collect her when possible.

You will need to service the front brakes as they were catching when I parked it or bring a tow truck/low loader.

If you service the brakes (happy for you to do it on my drive) and have a battery pack/insurance/MOT appointment I bet you can drive her off without a problem.

Drop me a message here and I'll be happy to make arrangements.

V5 present, of course.

This is a genuine offer. My account has not been hacked :D

I just saw that there was a Surrey meet yesterday. Sorry I missed that. Could have popped around for a chat.

Good memories from this great Club. Hope everyone is well.

Wagner

BTW, I have some oil and one shot of Protek left that goes FOC as well.

May have a couple of oil filters as well.

There's no timeframe.

Sooner than later, but no immediate rush.

Indeed Nigel.

I thought I had sent a DM to Shagrington about the offer for someone to take the car, but it seems that it got lost before sent.

I'm sure he would have mentioned about the meet yesterday. I was free anyway.

The trouble is i live in Cornwall so can't come collect it on a whim, id need a firm agreement on a date before I could. Also I'm not first in line so....

Having said that, if it is still available next week, I can collect on the 11th, Friday week.

I have also received a DM.

Again, I'm repeating that I'm not in a hurry. It can wait.

Of course I don't want to be messed around with someone promising to come and then change their mind.

Based on the price I suppose I deserve that bit of consideration :D

June/July/August makes no difference to me.

As I say, I am upfront and reliable, just ask around if you want references :) if we where to come to some arrangement, you can be assured I’ll hold up my end. :thumright:

Very generous offer! I'm certain there are plenty of suitable people in line that'll give it the love and care that it needs and keep it on the road and look after it =D> =D> not me this time though - if I put a third RX-8 on the drive I don't think I'd be alive hah!  best of luck to you all 8)

I have just agreed with a Club member to come and collect it.

Thanks for all the messages and thank you messages.

Glad it's going to a good home where it will be put to good use.

Long time no see Wagner. No sorry, I haven't received any messages - and yes of course I would have mentioned the meet (all things being equal there will be another next month so keep your eye on the meet thread for details when it is all confirmed - you will be very welcome as always).

Thanks for that, Shaggy.

Good friends left behind. Great company and jovial socialising as a norm.

Love the Club, love the ethos, but most of all, love the car.

Knee isn't what it was to drive a manual and Kimberley can't really be a passenger any longer.

We'll definitely see you at an upcoming meet.

(don't judge the wheels) :D
