RX8 cruise control

I did carry out a search and didn't find a definitive thread...

I am thinking of installing cruise control on my mx5, but with a aftermarket steering wheel.

I've found a couple of suitable button sets from alternative manufacturers which I can mount on the dash or create a custom button mount on the steering wheel (similar to the Ford smax setup)

Does any one know of any glaring issues which would prevent me using button from a jag or Ford for example?

I've found/downloaded the software to switch the feature on, on the ecu.

As long as the buttons do the same thing I can't think of a reason. I don't think there are any issues with using alternate switches, Mazda 6 switchgears work once the cruise is enabled for example.

Found something suitable.
Need to hunt for buttons now.
Going to drill an additional button hole on either side

After looking at the wiring diagram, the cruise control buttons work off resistance...
Initial plan might not work

Hi have a set of buttons with cruise control, tho they are from an auto. I was going to put them up on eBay. Here’s some pics if your interested.
