Hi all,
I've had the sad news today that apparently Borla no longer make the S-Type catback system (SKU 140078) and now only do the homologated EC-Approved version (SKU 1014015) that is supposedly quieter to comply with stricter noise and emission regulations, as well as being more expensive as a result!

I'm finding it hard to find any meaningful comparison between the two... Is there anyone here who might be able to shed some light? I've done some searching so far with no luck. I've had a Borla on 2 previous '8s and I love the sound - I'd hate for this newer version to be too muted/quiet in comparison.
Thanks in advance!

but... Brexit surely..EC-Type approved systems are those that comply with European Union rules for motor vehicles, vehicle systems and components

You'd love to think that Brexit means we can scrap all the EC- approval BS. But that would mean our gov would need to sit down and come up with their own ideas. far easier to just adopt the EU crap and do nothing.
To the OP, each to their own, but I can highly recommend the Pettit system, I have a full system form (not including headers) and it sounds AMAZING!!

That was my first thought! But they aren't even manufacturing it for the US market either - it's EC Approved or sod all it seems
At this rate I'll have to be the guinea pig

Update: I got really lucky and managed to source a Borla 140078 from a breakers yard so the question will remain unanswered, at least for now
