Carbon Fibre skinning service in the UK?

Post by Dr. FrankenRex »

Just wondering if anyone knows of a carbon fibre skinning company in the UK?

I want the blade from my R-Magic wing skinning in real CF. I've got a kit to do it myself, but I'm just not going to get around to it.

Any pointers appreciated 😁

For reference, I'm not knocking the work of wicked coatings - all the stuff I've seen looks like a solid job.

I just think of effect coatings look trashy - but to each their own

There’s a company called T.C.Composites on Facebook.

They make Doors Bonnets boots for Minis and Escorts.
Plus other stuff.
Might be worth sending them a Email.

https://www.facebook.com/TC-Composites- ... 081872576/

Just remembered
My mate that races a MK2 Escort has some goodies done in Carbon Fibre.
I’ll try and sort out the CF mans number.
Different company.

Also there’s another guy on facebook that has a Cosworth Dolomite.
He’s made his own Carbon Fibre panels.
I’ll can send him a message to see if he can do anything for you.

By saying skinning with carbon fibre do you mean a wrap? If so then given the shape of you spoiler that could be messy.
As you say though it’s your choice.

I think wrapping would be a neater finish. I do agree hydro dipping is really hit and miss. Wrapping thing is very much you get what you pay for
All of the rotors, none of the compression

I've seen "mixed results" to put it kindly, for both dipping and vinyl-wrapping CF finishes.
Some look awful, while the Wicked Coating stuff that Tony had done was very good.

The only place I know that does CF skinning makes it clear that it's NOT a cosmetic treatment and any imperfections are to be expected, as they CF skin body panels, skid plates etc for physical reinforcement. You can also choose a kevlar blend in the skin.

Skinning in CF is the process of coating a part in real carbon fibre, not wrapping it in vinyl
