Looing at the 231 numbers, the loss per year from 2010 to 2019 was pretty much 1k each year

But in 2020, the loss slowed considerably to only 300. Good job too, else there would be none left by 2022

Your picture is incomplete because it excludes SORN cars. They more than double the numbers still registered. Many will, of course, just be SORN because their owners have been too lazy to get them scrapped officially, but probably large numbers are SORN to save the road tax during Covid and will be back on the road once this is all over.

Whatever the current SORN/OTR figures, it is clear that numbers are going down quite rapidly when you look at the cars being broken for parts on ebay and FB.

It would be nice to know how many of each colour was left especially the special edition cars, I have owned my white 40th Anniversary car for 12 years now and have never seen another on the road but have seen one grey 40th in a Mazda showroom.

Phantom Blue with only 100 cars I would think is the rarest colour but Nordic green and Daffodil Lightning Yellow not knowing any production figures I would have thought these are rare colours now.

I've only seen one other Lighting Yellow in NI, and that was a JDM automatic with 16" wheels.

The manager of the government MOT test centre in Newtownards commented that mine is the only one that they've seen.

I know a friend that has a BRZ, although he had a big oil leak while driving and his journey ended rather fast after that. Still got it and I think he's planning to rebuild it/get a new engine he's said it'll be back on the road and we'll have my R3 and his BRZ together at some point... So that's definitely one of the SORN'd BRZs

If I get a 2nd 8, it'll probably be done into that colour. I say that but I don't see any eventuality where I have/keep 2 8s one is enough of a handful

And at the same time Im sitting here figuring out if I can justify importing a Mazda Cosmo Eunos.. Because they really aren't expensive and a 20B would be hella fun with a manual swap and better turbos.. But.. What colour would that be? And thats kind of wayyy down the line currently.

Ooft that is something unique. I quite like the Cosmo Eunos' look etc. And they're all autos so mostly "undesireable" to alot of people. Get them with about 40-60Km on the clock for about 10k or so on price plus import and such.. But owning one would be apart of owning a very uncommon bit of rotary history that would be awesome... Its that or an RX7 FB which.. could be hard to come by.

The Cosmo colour would need to be red like the numbers on your bank statements would be!
