Digital compression tester?

Post by Jeags »

Hi all,

In the new 8 Monday and have had time to think about car maintenance. I would like to keep an eye on compression, so it could be beneficial to purchase a tester since it's around £60 a pop at a specialist. I saw this on Facebook recently and was wondering what people's opinions are of it:

I haven't a clue whether it's a credible source, but are there any ways to tell the good from the bad?

Cheers.

They're quite new to the market, built by a chap called Ciprian Dalvaru in Bucharest.

This seller is seemingly not impressed, yay rotary community doing it's thing. Drama drama llama.

You could make one..

https://www.instructables.com/TR-01-DIY ... on-Tester/

Wouldn't take much more to add a screen and some fancy stickers. I bet that's all the first guys done.

Problem is the cost of of the transducer. It's what's off me off so far.

I've had a Twisted Rotors TR-01 for years, always treated me well.
