S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
Hi All,
Appears that all the Club's new PZ suspension sets are spoken for. Given that, can anyone suggest some alternatives?

Re: S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
It really depends what you want from the suspension and what your budget is...
- OEM comfort level?
- Stiffer?
- Lower?
- Adjustable - on installation, with tools or on-the-fly?
It's also possible that someone may have bought a set of PZ units, from the original group buy, not got around to fitting, and has changed plans...

Re: S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
Definitely worth posting in buying and selling for a PZ set
Otherwise I can highly recommend Tein Monosport coilovers. Adjustable for ride height and shocker stiffness.
On halfway setting I would say close to R3/PZ stiffness. Springs are stiffer though.

Best other option would be a set from an R3

Yes. The R3 dampers and springs aren't interchangeable with the S1 parts, but the complete assemblies fit fine.

Re: S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
Slightly lower than the S1 with better damping control, plus generally a lot younger.

Re: S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
Without going into minute detail, the R3 suspension is essentially the same as the PZ kit. There's no noticeable difference between them on the road or on track. If you wanted the PZ suspension you'll get the same feel and performance from the R3 suspension.
I've had both on my car for road and track.

Re: S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
Thanks guys,
I guess I was after the equivalent of the PZ as they say it was optimised for UK roads, so it's good to know the R3 is a match or that there are other options to buy new
Obviously if anyone wants rid of their PZ set they should drop me a message
Cheers,
Will.

As the PZ Bilsteins and springs are a one off does anyone know is there any difference between R3 and 40th Anniversary Bilsteins and springs?

Re: S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
Yes, again the springs and dampers aren't interchangeable, and Mazda experimented with 3 different spring part # on the 40th, but the overall performance is very similar and the complete units fit all our models (S1 and R3).

Re: S1 Suspension in the absence of PZ's :(
Oof, looks pretty ropey condition that eBay set.
I'm just bitter. Tried to sell my good condition R3 kit for that much for months and had no takers (just requests to split the set). Ended up giving them away.
