That sandwich plate looks the same as one I ordered awhile back and was crap. I ordered one a while back to test for my set up and none of the threads weren't cut straight causing the temp sensor to hit the wall of the plate.

I'm not sure how robust that pod will be, to me it looks like its printed on a home 3D printer. What you could do if you do not mind paying a bit more is get the supplier to print via a Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) process which will not only provide a better finished product but also provide something that is more robust.

We do alot of 3D printing for prototype work and its fantastic for this, just not 100% convinced its up to the final product requirement.

I mean, for the budget I have, it doesn't really bother me too much. I just need something functional. Will look into the SLS though, cheers

That's pretty cool, can easy be smoothed over with a little bit of body filler then a light sand followed by rattle can spray over.

Yeah, nice idea! The fella said he uses ASA in his FDM printer, which holds up better with regards to UV and is most cost effective whilst still being quality. I haven't a clue really but willing to take a chance!

Right, so pretty much everything has arrived now so will hopefully install this weekend! Just a quick question, the pod gauges has a dim function when you connect the extra wire to a positive wire. I assume I should splice this in with a wire to turn the main beam headlights on, but where would be the best location for this?

Simple solution of location of engine oil temp. meter (12,6 degr. C. on picture) with probe in sump........ashtray lid can be closed.....ashtray can be re-installed if required...



I have a similar solution with my Mazda 2 1,5 GT-M......oil temp. meter located in "coin box".....

A little late to this thread but you could go down the road of making your own air vent pod gauge holder I did it for the MX~5 as there where at that time none available and none I liked just two 52mm pods at an angle put together, with holes for cables pre drilled sprayed up then cover with alcantara fabric. the base is on 4 very strong magnets so you can adjust them to suit and remove them to clean the window space...












the larger 52mm pod is for the extra wiring as the lighting, earth, ignition wires are on an umbilical from one gauge to another I just added the two small sun shades for effect the gauges are from PROSPORT a little pricey but worth it and come with white, green ,blue, red, orange illumination backgrounds ....
