I can report that, on the 3rd attempt to rectify my fuel leak, Underwoods Mazda (Colchester) have now succeeded in fixing the my petrol leak. They seem to have thoroughly cleaned the tank and fitted another new seal.

I've brimmed the tank and thrown the car around a few roundabouts - no sign of any petrol smell or sign of any damp patches around the tank seals either side :D

Agreed, hence the collection of data so we can see how widespread this is.

An email will be going out to all club members tomorrow about this issue, urging them to report their experiences.

Hi All

1. I did have a recall notice last year but to be honest I am not sure it was relating to the fuel tank?
2. I did get whatever was on the recall done
3. TW White Orpington
4.N/A
5. No
6. Always fill the tank to the brim at least once a week, not noticed any issues or smells of petrol etc.
7. Haven't noticed any other issues so far.

Fuel gauge seems to be reading fairly acurately or at least it is consistent as we all know MPG is not going to be great but I would say I get between 20 and 23 MPG not sure how typical that is?
I guess driving style will make a fair difference.

2. Nope
3. N/A
4. My reason if I had recieved the notice would be the amount of failures after the work has been completed being too high/dangerous.

I have an outstanding notice for passenger airbag replacement. Which I attempted to have rectified last year but due to the amount of time/a misunderstanding with the dealerships scheduling anyway I couldnt have the work completed. But even this seems possibly damaging to the car in some respects from other members experiences.
