Re: Draggy Times
is that this thing?
https://dragymotorsports.co.uk/
as I'd say seems like the sort of thing a bunch of mates would club together to get at £129
or is this an app?

Re: Draggy Times
Torque and Dash Command I believe both have 0-60 timers, and the base app is free, the pro version is a fraction of the price of that Draggit.

Re: Draggy Times
Yep that’s the one
Doesn’t torque read from the obd ?
gps results were quite shocking
Fastest 0-60 friend managed his rx8 was 6.9 and 22.4 100-200
Would be interesting to see if ported ones are running much faster
In reference my rx7 did 100-200 is 11 with a passenger

He also managed a 14.9 1/4 mile
Car was relatively stock with a decat K&n filter and mini map

KPH I take it. Yes Torque reads from the OBD port.osman wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:22 pmYep that’s the one

Re: Draggy Times
I asked a police office how his gps compared to his calibrated speedo and he said they are around 3% fast. I guess manufacturers don't fancy going to court because you were over the limit due to satnav being a bit off.
It's nice to see the RX8 is more accurate than my bikes as they seem to read around 8% fast all the time.

Re: Draggy Times
Also note that "GPS Speed" isn't accurate either, if that's what you're comparing to.
Satnavs and phones have a sample rate that they check their position, and assume that you've travelled in a straight line between those sample points.
Most also act as if the ground is flat, not up and down hills.
If the road is curved and/or up or down hill, then the distance travelled is further than the GPS assumes, therefore GPS will underestimate speed.
GPS should be fairly accurate if road is straight and flat for more than a mile or so.
Cars speedos aren't allowed to underestimate speed, so usually overread by about 5% to take into account all the variables.

Re: Draggy Times
It's quite accurate, few videos of people going to drag strips and getting identical times and trap speeds with a slope of 0% on the road
Just Abit of fun, plenty of other cars on there aswell but not many rx8's

Re: Draggy Times
The RX-8 could hardly be less suited to 0-60 or ¼ mile racing, as it has so little torque and a fairly fragile clutch.
If straight line acceleration is your thing then you've bought the wrong car.
Take the car to a real track and there will be other cars that may pull ahead of you down the straights, but you should be all over them in the corners. Get past and your exit speed will be so much greater that even their torque advantage won't let them catch you before the end of the next straight.
It's similar but less dramatic on the road.

Re: Draggy Times
I always presumed that speedo error increases with speed (on account of it underreading and all), but my '98 BMW remained resolutely 3 mph down on the GPS all the way to fast. I suppose it depends on whether you use axle speed and detune a bit, or if you trust your axle speed more and then add a decrement to make sure it stays low.

Re: Draggy Times
Cool. That sounds quite decent. What were the mods apart from Bridgeport? Intake, exhaust etc? Apologies you might have mentioned this but I've missed if so.

Re: Draggy Times
Thought I'd update this,
Managed to do a 90-190 of 16.7 seconds
Speedo was 100-200 of 17 in comparison stock cars take around 25+ seconds
