Essex Rotary

Post by guykjw »

Hey All,

Anyone know if something's going on at Essex Rotary?

I've had some work done their before and was very happy with the service. I emailed them on June 18th about some additional works and received their normal prompt and friendly response and Aston confirmed they were still operating despite Covid. However in the 3 weeks since then they've not replied to any emails or picked up the phone at all.

Anyone have any info?

Thanks.

Spoke to them yesterday on Aston's mobile. Invariably if he is working on a car he doesn't pick up, or unless someone is maning the office. (They were yesterday) He is also notoriously slow in acknowledging e-mails #-o . Best to keep trying, or try texting his mobile. He is due to call me back so I will give him a nudge (hopefully) :thumright: .

Have the same issue. Been trying to get my car booked in since Jan! I may have to sell the car if I can’t get access to a specialist easily anymore.

I wouldn't want to direct anyone away from ER (I really like those guys), but if you need to look elsewhere then Boston Rotary (bigpete) is excellent and it's a lovely drive there.

Thank you both for the alternative recommendations. If I don't hear back soon I'll definitely need to explore these. The trip up to Boston Rotary certainly looks a better drive than half a lap of the M25 to Essex!

That is a long drive from London! Ironically it is the subframes that I bought from bigpete last year that I need Essex Rotary to install (amongst some other things).

No others within or around the M25 is there?

Also if you're happy travelling a bit, consider Ryan Rotary Performance in Rugby or over Ipswich way - just watch they don't convince you to give them all the money from your bank account with their shiny shiny products!

Thanks for the alternate recommendations. Didn't know about a few of these. Feeling a bit more relaxed now with options although all these guys are definitely a precious resource let's pray they all stay in business or we're doomed.

TPS which was Lc rotary in Orpington
Just to note. TPS was always a separate company from LC ROTARY ran by Reece although only a few units away from LC ROTARY. Josh is a former employee of lc rotary whom now works for Reece.

Any of the above companies im sure could help. Although I've only had experience with essex rotary and TPS.

I wouldn't take my 7 anywhere else than ER
The amount of work they put in to repair the rust on the floors etc, beggars belief and the bill was surprisingly palatable

Got some tough decisions to make now. I’m a bit stuck getting through to Essex Rotary on the phone. Still not managed. Got a text saying to expect a call back the next day but that was last Friday. Take it to TPS or sell? Got a bit of thinking to do now

Wow Delta0. I haven't experienced working with Essex Rotary, but my recent experience with TPS was very positive.

I hear you though, when you get someone working on your car and you trust, you just want to keep going back to them, rather than take a risk elsewhere.

Sad it's come to this and hope it works out whichever route you decide to go.

Deffo give TPS a call first. I've found them knowledgeable and helpful.

I’m looking into it. I would need to get the subframes Essex Rotary have had since last year transferred there. Only 10 mins further drive at least which was surprising, thought I might have to go the long way around the M25.

I have always used Essex Rotary as my primary specialist as Aston was the first to set up anywhere near me and has always been great with me and my car, but have also taken my car to TPS when I couldn't get hold of Aston or when I needed something urgently or nearer to me and for a couple of annual services and I will happily recommend both of them.

Managed to get everything sorted. They were super busy with some awesome cars they had in long term. Will be dropping off the car next Friday for quite a bit of work. Getting the underside treated for any rust. The sub frames which were showing rust are coming off and new(er) ones going on which have been prepped. Plus some upgrades, superpro bushes, lightweight flywheel, clutch etc.

Glad you got sorted with them. I too have recently experienced the lack of a timely response but did speak with Aston today and apparently some emails going from the website are not getting through and the same with some voicemails hence responses lacking. Understandable but still frustrating and I removed my Facebook negative review which had prompted Aston to call.
