Grooves I believe are primarily for gas dispersal which can cause a friction problem.
Unless your going on track you don’t need to consider things like that unless you like the ascetics.

You're right, gas dispersal is why grooves started being machined/cased into discs. But, as someone who has owned cars which are very prone to water saturation of brake discs, I've experienced how much faster "cold" grooved discs disperse water.

import tax will be zero as I won’t be buying them at that price. I can buy the rotors (discs) on their own a lot cheaper.
