Suspicious compression results

Looking at a rx8 that has just come up for sale.
Seller is a dealer and has a compression tester himself and whilst the results aren’t amazing (mid 6s) they are all within 0.1 of each other which seems unusual !

Would you be wary ? He has offered to do the comp test again in my presence.

Yes it’s white. I’m not making accusations as I’m tempted to take a look, just never seen compression so close and he also has another one with similar close results.

At least they're in the mid-6's, not all 7

Mid sixes isn't too bad, especially if it has been street ported. Mine has high sixes all round, all within one or two of each other, my rebuild was early this year and it runs beautifully.

There was another "dealer" who was famous for all his used cars having compression results of all 7's.

^^ that dealer was mentioned on FB recently by a chap who bought a PZ and found the compression to be a fair bit lower than expected not long after.

I am selling the car in question, all I can do is repeat that I have no qualms in testing any of my RX8s in the presence of potential customers or let them be tested by a third party (as long as they know what they’re doing :) )

Can confirm Nick knows how to test. He did mine in front of me.

Have to eat my words a bit after seeing the one Pete has for sale with very close comp numbers 😂 obviously not as unusual as I thought
