Replacement for Vresestein 225/45 ZR 18 95Y

Post by Zuirech »

I have four Vresestein 225/45 ZR 18 95Y on my RX8 230. (Had car since new on 2004!)
It has failed its MOT as the front offside tyre has two cuts.
I don't want to have to replace all the tyres, or even 2.
I can't find the Vresestein 225/45 ZR 18 95Y anywhere.
The nearest I can find is:
225/45R18 (95Y) ULTRAC SATIN, or
225/45R18 (95Y) ULTRAC VORTI Rim Protector

Are either of them comparible / compatible with my existing front tyre, ie could I fit one of them on the same front axle as the existing tyre? If so, which of the two options is more compatible?
Thanks

As you have found the Sessanta has been discontinued and superseded by the Ultrac Vorti. It's essentially a different tyre so ideally you will need to replace at least the axle pair.

Thanks for that. I'll stop looking for the old tyre now. However, just had the old tyre checked today by another garage and they says it's fine. Strange that!

We don't have a group for "founder guests", but perhaps we should! Welcome back. You're currently averaging a post every two years... It would be nice to see a picture of your "one careful owner" car. :thumleft:
